The Librarian Series Novels & Stories

After he was gone, Liana asks me whether I had any specific book in mind, and when I mentioned mages, she guided me to the last aisle. “This is the only section we have,” she murmurs, sounding almost apologetic. I plaster a small smile in reply. The library is more like a storeroom for books than anything else. It’s not big enough to fit all the books, so some are lying unattended, stacked on top of each other. She goes back to her desk while I scan the spines starting from the topmost shelf. I feel smug at seeing the not-so-good conditions of the books. Our library has red-bound books. One title catches my attention. I tip-toe and take it out.

Casper asked. Rex sighed and said, “There are things that even I do not know. The old librarian will soon be handing over to his son but whatever secrets he would pass on to his son, he is going to share with us. Meet our old librarian, Linux Blade.” An old man whose hair was all white, walked into the conference room. Though old looking, his stature and countenance exhumed strength and he still had the appearance of the traditional Blades. He took a seat beside Rex and said, “This is what was passed down to me from five hundred years ago.” He dropped a big book, the size of an encyclopedia on the shining luxury conference table and when eyes narrowed in confusion, he went on to explain,

That piece of information was crucial because it linked the artist to the Sorceress but Evander had said otherwise. So now the big question is, who is right and who is wrong? The air is thick with a sense of urgency as I return to the library. The librarian looks up from a book and his eyes sparkle in the dull yellow light of the lamp hanging above his desk. He does not rise though, I do not expect him to. He is an old man and getting up is hard on his knees. He flashes me a warm smile and his eyes crinkle with laughter. "Back so soon?"

Eamon took a deep breath and looked around, "Have you heard of something related to two different types of people being mates like maybe a werewolf is mated to our kind or another kind, things like that? Is there a book like that here?" "Let me check my Lord", the librarian said as she went around and inspected the notebooks with her round glasses that were always on her neck, "Shelf 112 my Lord, maybe there will be something there for you". "Thank you and I don't want a word about this anywhere. I'm I understood?", Eamon gave her a very serious face for her to know that if word gets out without it getting out from him, that it would be a very serious problem. "Yes my Lord", the librarian bo

Mesilla tells me on the way “So Miss Andrea limited the orders for new books.” “I see.” I don’t think Lukas is the bookish type anyway Well, it’s good for me. Old books must have harder words. Mesilla opens the doors to the library for me, and it’s almost tiny compared to what I saw at SeraphFall manor. A modest room with around eight tall bookshelves. “Where’s the librarian?” I ask, noticing an empty desk near the doors “Oh, the archivist must’ve slacked off again!” Mesilla huffs out in annoyance “Please feel free to look around, Lady Sigmond. I’ll go get that slacker!”

I said apologetically. “Be sure that you do. Others are trying to learn around you,” the librarian said, her frown unflinching. “If we have any more problems, I’ll have to ask you both to leave, and I won’t be nice about it the second time.” I turned back to Lin, who was still staring at her computer screen. I watched her eyes scan from right to left. “Is that what she calls nice?” I asked Lin, but she didn’t respond.

I said, and she nodded. “Sometimes the biggest weapons, the strongest and deadliest are hidden in a library, Diablo.” She said, opening the door. The two of us walked inside and she nodded at the librarian. The woman did not even bother getting up. It was as if she was aware of our presence. She was aware of what we were here for. Maybe she was.

I couldn’t wait to finish the novel and then upload it to Zoodago, the sight where I published my works and had so many loyal readers. As I typed, a sharp voice cut through my concentration. "Humans aren't welcome in this section of the library." I looked up to see a stern-faced librarian glaring down at me. She had on round black glasses and a plastic-looking hairdo pulled back so tightly, I could see the strain around the edges of her face. Her eyes were cold and completely filled with disdain. "Excuse me?" I stammered, taken aback by her hostility. "You heard me," she snapped. "This area is reserved for special students. Not humans."

Am I supposed to take his curse into me, even if it kills me? I gather the books that I want to borrow and head downstairs to the circulation desk. The librarian, a middle-aged woman with kind eyes, scans the barcodes and stamps the due dates. "Doing some research?" she asks in a friendly manner. "Local folklore project," I lie readily. "I'm interested in the old stories." "Well, you've picked some good sources. Dr. Blackwood's writing is particularly thorough, though some people think she got a little too close to the subject matter."

This was the third book from a series she had found very interesting and she couldn’t wait for it to be four o’clock and get home. Afternoons were fairly dull and quiet in the library with its dwindling membership, and Doris almost gave in to the temptation of undoing the package and taking a sneak peek. But she controlled herself; it would be time to leave soon. Hamby wouldn’t be back until the next day, and the other librarians usually left a half hour before time, leaving her, the humble assistant, to do the closing up. Well, today she would close up as soon as they left and be home before four.
