Chasing back my ex-wife
“There’s no us, Leo! The moment you tossed me out of your house like trash… the moment you chose my step sister over me… that was when we died. That was the day we ended. Please, just let me go.”
She tried to turn, but I reached for her hair, brushing a strand away from her face. She smacked my hand away, hard.
Still, I raised her chin, forcing her to look at me. Our eyes locked.
“Why are you trying so hard to act tough?” I asked quietly. “I know you, Kiara. Especially when it comes to me. You don’t have to pretend.”
“You know nothing about me anymore,” she snapped. “You lost that part of me, Leo. And you’re not getting it back.”
