The prospect of engaging in illegal activities, particularly being involved in drug operations with Antonio, sent shivers down his spine. Browsing through the shelves, I hurriedly picked the black vial with a liquid that sickened me as it sloshed inside of it when I grabbed it off the counter. The Dark Rose was the only thing that could end my life as fast as I had wanted it over. Slipping it underneath my dress, I quickened my pace out of the apothecary as quietly as I had slithered in, rushing back to my room and slamming the door shut. I panted, leaning against the wall until I dropped to my knees in a flurry when vivid images of what I had just lost flashed through my eyes. I caught the tears when they had threatened to fall again, sniffling when I clicked the small cork open.

I opened it carefully, the pages brittle beneath my fingers. Dust filled the air, making me cough, but I barely noticed. My eyes darted over the faded, nearly illegible ink until I found a heading that made my heart skip:

Louis’s POV… The healer’s den smelled strange. Not of crushed leaves and warm resin, not of comfort and certainty—but of absence. I knew it the moment I stepped inside. The shelves were bare in places they should never be bare. Clay jars sat open, empty. Mortar bowls were clean when they should’ve been stained dark with recent use. My jaw tightened. “Tell me this is a mistake,” I said flatly. The old healer didn’t meet my eyes. Her hands twisted together, fingers stained green from whatever substitute she’d been trying to brew. “Alpha… the last batch is gone.”

She had no idea that the joke was the truth. . Steve hasn't gotten any information about the lost blood. He was more worried that Elon would find her first. One of his men walked in. Steve was happy for some seconds that he has come with good news. "What is it? Talk to me, have you found her?" He asked. "There are so many girls in the city. There's no way we can notice her" he said. "Darn it! F*ck! Steve groaned and angrily kicked into air. "I'll find her myself. I just don't know what characteristics she has. We need to find the key" he said.

“You have my word.” In fairness, the study had been feeling rather stuffy lately. And I, so used to keeping my hands busy to exhaustion, was getting restless being seated day in and day out. Some fresh air might do me a favor after all. As I made my way through the lower halls, I passed by a couple of iotas– one hunched over with a terrible cough. Grimly, I was reminded of the medical value we had lost in Derek. He had been a terrible person, but still a brilliant apothecary.

She gritted her teeth at the image of Tyler holding Aubrey in his arms lovingly playing inside her head. "I'll never let you be together! I'd rather die than let that happen!" She clenched her fist. On the other hand, Tyler directly went to Aubrey's suite. He knocked on the door to apologize, but a different person opened the door, the Nanny. Turns out Aubrey wasn't in the suite. Tyler went out to search for her but he couldn't find her. His anxiety started to kick off, Aubrey leaving him and was never found five years ago played in his head. He couldn't help but clench his trembling hands to ease his anxiousness but it never worked.
