“I’ll need your blood to help with her healing. Your mark has already tied her to you—your blood may be the only thing that keeps her alive through this.” Without hesitation, I extended my wrist. “Take whatever is needed.” As Veylana got ready to help Athena, I stood beside her, keeping watch. Something inside me had changed, and I didn't know when it happened. Whoever hurt her would pay for it. The treatment felt like it took forever. I stood there, arms crossed, watching as Veylana worked. I stood still and quiet, listening to the sound of Athena's weak breathing and the clinking of metal tools. How long is this going to take?

As the alpha turned to her with cold eyes, she muttered. “Not anymore, Myra. I reject you, and you don’t have my mark anymore,” he snarled as Myra felt that wicked pain on her wrist as she shot up from the bed. “No!” She screams out, her body trembling in shock as she stares at her arm, the mark still there, the room feels drowsy; meanwhile, Myra rushes to the toilet and turns on the shower, letting the cool water soothe her body. Myra rocks back and forth, feeling suffocated, until she touches her hands to confirm his mark is still there, a mark she had scratched until it became red.

"This is crazy. I don't even know you." "Your name is Ava." He said it softly, reverently. "Ava Marie Chen. You were born on June twenty-first, eighteen years ago. You have a birthmark on your right hip shaped like a crescent moon. When you were seven, you broke your arm falling out of a tree, and you cried more because you couldn't climb anymore than because it hurt." Tears were streaming down my face now, and I didn't even know why. "Stop. Please stop."

I nodded " yes, I know she's the girl you met there so? " " No, it's isn't about that " " Then what is it about? " I was getting all confused now. What is Alex driving at? "Did you notice the mark on her arm?" " What mark?" I didn't realize she has a mark. " There is this little mark that looks like a sphere just below her wrist. If you were observant enough you'll see it. That Mark is exactly like those of Zeus. The black world. I don't know why a human-like her has such a make " he explained.

"Seriously, those things still exist?! Mom told Xanne and I stories about these creatures that supposedly were a good challenge for her, but I never believed it to be true. She's the strongest fighter I've ever met in my entire life. That's why this planet dubbed her with the name Athena in reference to the Greek goddess. Since she has the "Book of Knowledge" after fighting her and bringing her down. Anyway, that's a story for another time. So, you were saying-" (The doors open and what looks like a priest with a

That's why I peeked at what he was looking at and frowned when I saw a black circular shape stamped on my skin! "What's this?!" I turned to him hysterically. How did I get that? And what does that mean? He crouched a bit to level my eyes. The water rushed from his head to his shoulders. It's the same with me but it's stronger with him because he's now the one under the shower. "It's the Alpha King's mark, Athena." He said before he attacked me with his hungry kisses. I was stunned as I watched the small circle on my shoulder. It is not immediately noticeable because it is so small. I never thought I would have this after everything that happened. Something that had been so fucking perfect and beautiful last night turned out to potentially put her in harm’s way. “Stop,” he said, raising his hand and pinning us with a hard look. “You gave my sister something to hold onto until we can rescue her. You gave her yourselves, your marks, and hope. That needs to be you focus regarding your marks. She and Athena are strong as fuck. Their strength also increased because of those marks, since that’s how marking works. Think of it like that.” Thank the Goddess for Denny right now. Then, Athena’s face suddenly tensed, her eyes widening in shock at Caroline’s next whispered words. "You might be able to lie with your words, Athena. But not with the red mark on your neck. You didn’t cover it up completely." Instinctively, Athena reached for her neck and caught her reflection in a nearby glass panel. She quickly raised her collar, making Caroline grin wider before pulling her into a playful side hug.

“You don’t hate me. You’re afraid of what I might become.” Lucien’s jaw clenched. “I’m afraid of what the world becomes if no one stops you.” A heavy silence fell again. The hall gasped as the mark revealed itself—an inverted crescent, surrounded by three broken stars, glowing faintly against her skin.
