Marked by the Alpha

" What do you think we should do to them ?" Said a member of the notorious gang group that kept terrorizing the city. They could be seen in a cold dark narrow alley with three women who without being told, one would have been able to deduce that they had been brutally mishandled.

" I don't know, what about we kill them?" said another.

James' ears clung, he happened to be at that place, that place, same time the women were being harassed. The moment he heard 'kill them' his wolf immediately sprung into action.

" Please, we are sorry, tell him that we will pay him back his money." This time, the voice belonged to a woman.

" Too late for that, he doesn't need your pathetic money."

James' wolf became restless, he had no business with whatever the humans were doing but his wolf couldn't just let the strange men kill those women.

It was now an internal battle between himself and his wolf on whether or not he should confront them but as always, he was no match for his wolf.

With hurried speed, he walked up to them with his golden brown eyes.

At first, they were surprised by his stupidity, no one dared come close to the group unless he or she was wishing for their death.

" Leave them alone! " James said as he stared intensely at them.

His extravagant display made them look at each other before bursting into a laughter filled with mockery. Who does he think he is?

" You know what, why don't you go home old man, we will let this slide because of your bravery," said a man who seemed to be the leader of the group.

The man looked over at the women and flashed them a quick smile. He brought out a gun and shot one of them.

James' eyes widened, there was no stopping his wolf now. This was one reason why he hated humans, they go around killing their kind without any care about who would be affected by their death, just like the wretched wars they occasionally have.

" How dare you? " James roared. Now it was the turn of the men to shrink in fear. That was the first time they had ever heard something so inhumane, with those eyes that blazed like the sharp edge of a silvered knife.

' Was this man even human?' one of them asked himself.

James' body started to change, his skin became hairier, his clothes ripped apart, his canine elongated, his fingers grew longer and his face changed. They gasped, they couldn't believe what they had just seen as they never thought they would come across one.

James was now a complete wolf. No wonder he dared to stand against them.

The women who he tried to save were also scared to death, they also knew about werewolves but never knew them to easily transform in the presence of humans.

That was one of the reasons James had no choice but to kill them, they had seen him in his wolf state and if he let them go, the news would be all over the internet before dawn which meant he also had to kill the women.

He cursed, if only these men had listened to him, he wouldn't have thought of killing them.

With angry and hungry-looking eyes, James charged at the men. He went straight for their leader who had earlier complimented his bravery. The man tried to play defensive but who was he kidding, he was no match for James who had torn the skin away from his neck thereby causing the leader instant death.

The humans who had supposed to run for their lives couldn't move due to shock. What they had just experienced and seen wasthe most irritating and terrifying thing that they had ever seen. Even as men who had killed numerous people, that was the first time they had ever seen that much blood.

James turned his gaze back to the remaining men, he seemed to have intentionally ignored the women but eventually, he will have to kill them to protect his secret.

The men immediately snapped out of their shock, they were his next target. He charged at the other and did the same he had done to the leader. By this time, both the women and the last man had run away. There was no way he would kill them by himself, they weren't statues who would just stand there and wait until it was their turn to be killed, of course, they would escape especially when he was busy with one.

James panicked, he can't possibly go searching for them in his wolf form and if he changes back to his human form, he would be stark naked as his clothes had been ripped off when transforming.

" Wow, just wow, I didn't know you were the new protector of humans." James didn't need anyone to tell who that voice belonged to. It seemed that the humans were not the only ones that he needed to be worried about, another wolf had seen him.

If the humans agreed within themselves to keep shut to what they had just seen this wolf in front of him would not. James had always known him as the master tactician and would probably use what he had just seen to his advantage else, he reports to the elder wolves.

James made sure that no one was in the alley before transforming back to his human form which meant he was now naked.

" Isaac, it is not what you think " James blurted out to see Isaac let out deep masculine laughter. It was exactly as he saw the action, if his father had not annoyed him, he probably wouldn't have been out here.

Earlier

" I need to see your mate, Isaac!" The aura in the living room was quite suffocating, there, Isaac's father, brothers, mother, and the rest of the pack could be seen. It was time to name Isaac, the next Alpha but he didn't fulfill what was supposed to be done.

An Alpha must have a Luna but Isaac's case was different, he insists on being named the Alpha without a Luna.

Isaac had a great disgust for females, he saw them. as the unnecessary gender aunceoat of them are weak and deemed their purpose in life as only to warm a wolf's bed.

The only female he had never felt disgusted for was, of course, his mother who had stood by him since birth.

" I'm sorry but there is no mate!! ". The pack members gasped, including Isaac's mother. She didn't gasp because of what her son had said but how the current Alpha had reacted, the wolf Isaac called 'father'.

" You know, you should have just told us that you don't want to be the Alpha and I would have made Zack, the Alpha, " Luke blurted out.

" Don't say that, of course, Isaac wants to become the Alpha, just give him some time and he will have a mate, right Isaac ?" his mother asked.

One of the characteristics that Isaac had, was he can't lie to his mother. How can he give a positive answer when he also didn't know if he was ever going to get a mate so he remained mute?

" I hereby name at Zack, the Alpha " . Everyone gasped, whay the heck did he just say ?

" You can't do this, I thought you were my father " Isaac blurted out to see a wide smirk form across Luke's face.

" Who told you that I was your father, your father is long dead !" This time, there was a long, bigger gasp from the crowd and the murmurs intensified.

Isaac's pupils constricted, and he turned his gaze over to his mother who had her gaze facing the floor. It all started to make sense, this probably explains Luke's hatred towards him.

So he isn't my father? , Isaac said inwardly

Isaac let out a loud sardonic laugh before giving his mother an intense stare. She knew about this and she didn't tell him, how could she keep this secret from him for 23 years? No wonder she didn't live in the same house as Luke.

" So where is my father ?" Isaac asked with a folded fist.

" Well he died trying to be a superhero, he was killed by the Alphas of other packs" Luke responded.

" Anyways, I am not here to talk if a dead wolf, the clock is ticking Isaac, it seems i will caus a rebellion within the pack if i don't give you another chance, you have one weak to get a Luna "

" You can't do that, it's my son's right !" Isaac's mother blurted out but Isaac no longer needed her to be by his side. She was not trustworthy even as a mother, that's if she was his mother.

Isaac's stare said it all, she could easily get the message across " I don't need your help ". At that moment, she knew she has lost her son to betrayal.

" Yes Isaac, the clock is ticking and it is only a manner of time before I get named the Alpha and everyone will know that I am better than you "

" How do you expect to do that, just like me you also do not have a mate, or is your father going to break the rules for you ?" Now, it was Isaac who had a wicked smirk on his face.

Even as an Alpha, it was not possible to bend the rules so easily, it will only bring the elder wolves' attention to the pack and no Alpha would want that.

" Unlike you, my son will be able to get a mate even at this moment, so there is nothing to worry about "

Zack nodded in agreement.

" You will see, you will all see and when I become Alpha, I will make sure that you suffer after all you guys are not my real family " Isaac immediately walked out of the meeting while gritting his teeth. That night was not the best he was supposed to be named Alpha that night but wasn't and he got the biggest shocker of his life, Luke was not his father.

He decided to go to his usual chilling spot, the place where James had killed the humans. He knew the rules given to all werewolves ' never kill a human or interfere in their business, which was why he didn't bother to interfere when the gangsters harassed those women.

' Today might be my lucky day ' he thought.

" I don't plan on telling anyone since I would not profit from that " James smiled but his celebration was immediately cut short when the next set of words left Isaac's mouth.

" You know, I am the future Alpha of the Night Wolf pack and I need a mate for it to happen." James crossed his eyebrows, he didn't know how any of that concerned him but he chose to let Isaac hit the nail on the head.

" Your daughter is not a social wolf so I am very sure that my father wouldn't know anything about her." James started to feel uneasy, he knew where Isaac's words were heading and prayed it didn't turn out that way.

" I want to mark your daughter as my mate else, your secret will be exposed to the elder wolves which include my father," Isaac said. It was now a case of blackmail but James was still not fully convinced. Even if he manages to silence Isaac by agreeing to his ridiculous deal, what about the humans?

" And the humans ?" He asked.

" No one would believe them, do you know how many people out there spread stories about werewolves? Their story would be like every other rumor out there." Isaac reasoned.

James sighed, what Isaac had said made sense.

" Do you want to mark her, you know what that means ?" James asked with gritted teeth. No one needs to tell Isaac how angry James was towards the deal.

" Of course, I know what it meant, I am ready for whatever the outcome would be as long as I become the Alpha, make sure you bring her to my house tomorrow." With no room given to James to say anything, Isaac's said and left but not without tossing the long coat he had to James . He wasn't so heartless to leave him naked.

" Where is my son?" Roared the founder and leader of the gang. He was the father of the first human James had killed.

" I'm sorry boss but he's dead, a….a man who turned to a wo…wolf killed him" the man who had escaped blurted out. He had come to report what been had seen that night but it seems it was the biggest mistake he would ever make.

" You mean my son was killed and this is the bullshit story that you can come up with ? " the boss yelled. He gestured for his guards to imprison him.

" Until you are ready to tell me where my son is, you will rot in my dungeon."
