I'm surprised there are no doors except one with some closed windows,the passage is wide and long to contain just a door and few windows..there are lot of spaces for more than that. "Yes" He said pointing to some number buttons attached to the top of the door. I gasp.

The truth of that lodged where lies like to nap. “Stop,” I said again, softer. The scene kept going. Then it didn’t. The door shut itself politely in my face. Third door. No smell. Nothing. The number 3 burned black. My skin crawled before my hand rose. I pressed my palm. It was the exact temperature of my skin. Nothing happened for a second. Then the door leaned into my hand like a friend who needs to be held up.

I was sure he wasn't going to look for it so I took it then left the room exactly how he left it. I walked back the same route, counting steps in my mind as I got to a huge painting. I kicked the floor thrice, that was a pattern as the painting let out a beep and moved to the side. There was a metallic door there, I saw this as easy peezy as I typed in a set of codes. Wrong! The door let out a squeak, showing that only three errors could be inputted before there was an automatic shutdown and blast. My face squeezed up in panic, my hands growing into a ball as I banged against the door then it showed.

From inside the apartment, Mia coughs. Small. Nothing. A child’s routine cough in a quiet hallway. Then another follows. Deeper. Wrong. Then it doesn’t stop. I’m through the doorway before the thought even finishes forming, but the door—the keypad. I don’t have the code. Nick is already there, his body moving ahead of his brain, his fingers punching in numbers before I can even ask what they are. The door swings open. I run.

There is no house, but there's a white iron proof gate with an alarm button and a code switch. I turn to Rory who is almost already absent and unconscious. "There's no house here, Mr Gate, only a white gate." I carefully explain to him, fearing that I might have gotten the location wrong and that we might be at the wrong location. "It's an underground house." He slowly replies and blood pours out of his mouth. His eyes still close "75598002, that's the code. I get down and hurry to the code switch on the gate and press the number and after the last digit, it opens on its own accord. I come back into the car and hastily drive-in.

There was the faint sound of movement—rustling fabric, a quick shuffle—and then, “The code is 5-7-2-8-star. Go inside. I’m close. Wait for me, alright?” I swallowed hard. “Alright,” I whispered. “I’ll be waiting.” The call ended. I stood there for another second, staring at my reflection in the dark screen of my phone like I didn’t recognize myself. Then I punched in the code. The door clicked softly, and I pushed it open.

The basement air was stale, smelling of mold and old wine. Park, limping and flanked by Min and Baek, led them to a heavy steel door behind the wine racks. There was a keypad. "Open it," Min ordered, pressing the gun to Park’s spine. Park punched in the code. 7-7-1-9. The heavy bolts retracted with a groan, and then the door swung open. Min’s heart was in his throat. This was it. The end of the nightmare.

“Why do you think that's the code?” “It's the day I was born, and the day my mom died.” His eyes dropped to the floor, and a wave of sadness washed over me. I turned back to the screen and inputted the numbers in the correct order, then stepped back and waited. The screen flashed green with the words ‘entry granted’. A series of dull clicks started behind the door; a mechanism was moving around to open the door. Finally, the door opened with a hiss, sliding open with a very loud noise that made me cringe internally.

She interrupted me as I tried to give her instructions. “What? Why?” Her voice was shaking with fear. “Go down to the basement. The code on the door to the left of the stairs is three one four one five nine. Get inside now! I’ll be there in forty minutes tops. They can’t get in there. Go! Now!” I heard the phone drop to the floor as she called the dogs and I heard her running. I disconnected the call and went back to the feed. They were moving slowly trying to remain hidden and then they disappeared from my line of view as they neared the perimeter of the yard.

The green fog was lower now, hanging like a thick curtain from the ceiling. I reached the door and hammered on it. It was locked. "Elle! Can you hear me?" From inside, I heard a faint, tiny cough. "Mommy? It’s dark. I can't breathe." "I'm coming, baby! Stay low!" I looked at the lock. It was a physical keypad, not a digital one. I couldn't hack it. I looked back at the man in the suit. He was crawling toward the gun. "The code!" I screamed at him. "Give me the code for the door!"
