The other men watched, their eyes wide, waiting for the moment the Gamma would break, would scream, would beg for mercy. But he didn’t. Instead, something shifted in the Gamma’s gaze, a cold resolve that sent a chill down my spine. Before anyone could react, before the Beta could bring the instrument any closer, the Gamma’s mouth snapped open, and with a sickening crunch, he bit down hard on his own tongue. Blood sprayed from his mouth in a violent burst as the Gamma spat the severed tongue onto the stone floor, his chest heaving with the effort. The sound of it hitting the ground was like a death knell in the oppressive silence that followed.

Leon I kept my eyes locked on Nyelle's face, watching carefully for the slightest reaction. The moment I mentioned the burner phone, something changed in her expression. It happened fast, so fast most people probably wouldn't have noticed it, but I did. And that was enough. The silence inside the car stretched between us. During this time she thought that she had succeeded in conquering Gamma, making the man finally anchored. Gamma's reputation as a female destroyer is terrifying, but doesn't Gamma seem to have surrendered to her all this time?

The mutants began advancing. Hundreds of them. I stepped forward. The darkness answered immediately. My shimmering void essence spread across the battlefield. Creating barriers. Opening escape routes. Shielding civilians. My gamma appeared beside me. Covered in blood. Not all of it his own. His eyes widened in relief. "Alpha." "Take them." He nodded immediately. No argument. No hesitation. The pack members began retreating through the portals. One by one. Family by family. Warrior by warrior. Until eventually only a few defenders remained.

Glancing around again he noticed the gamma female from SilverFang looking at them worriedly. “Can you run?” His mate shook her head no and he did the same, he would not leave her or his pack! The gamma nodded before she went into another bag and pulled out some shorts and two long dresses. “Here put these on and shift back so we can communicate better.” She whispered before her bag chirped. “Big Papa to Hot Mama, come in Hot Mama.” The gamma grabbed the radio and answered. “This is Hot Mama, go ahead Big Papa.”

Her voice was flat, like she’d already accepted it. By the door, Cerebus sat like a statue. Three sets of eyes scanning in three different directions. Alpha’s head low and still, calculating. Beta staring through the door as though he could see the horizon. Gamma restless — pawing, sniffing, twitching. Ellie stopped her pacing. “What is it?” Gamma’s ears perked. A low whine. Beta rumbled a warning growl. Alpha’s lips peeled back just enough to show teeth. Something was wrong.

Then he opened the first book and turned it so the spine would stay flat, “We’ll go slow. You don’t need to know every word. You only need the ones that matter.”

Sean didn't need any prophecy to tell him that this was his uncle. “Sean!” The man signed with his hands - much to Sean's shock, “We have been waiting for you for so long! It's been a long time, nephew.” Sean frowned, looking at the man and the swift motions of his hands. Then he remembered, recalled what had caused the misunderstanding between his uncle and his family. His uncle, the alpha of Dragon Blood Pack was also Mute.

Then she turned and left. I had been walking silently beside her when she suddenly stopped and blocked my path. I signed ‘What’s wrong?’ with my hands. She looked down at me and laughed, a cruel smile on her face. “So the rumors are true. You are mute,” she said. “Listen up, the Alpha is mine, you hear? I don’t have to worry about you.
