Thalia snapped, sword already gleaming in the lantern light. Nyra nocked an arrow, her eyes narrowed, calculating. “We’ll never hold them all off if they surround us.” Elias’ jaw set. “We don’t. We cut through and get out.” Simple. Brutal. The only chance we had. The first monster lunged, bursting through a bookcase with a screech that rattled the glass in the windows. Its face was a grotesque smear of features—mouth too wide, teeth crooked like shards of glass, eyes empty hollows rimmed with gold.

It was written by a woman in Australia who claimed to have been in contact with a pack of werewolves who’d allowed her to study them. I remembered how a good deal of it had sounded so farfetched that I’d closed the book with disdain. Now, after having dealt with and dissected one of those vile creatures, I re-read the pages with more interest and a far more opened mind. After leaning against my desk and reading a few more pages, I decided to pick up the rest of the mess that was caused by Max and my little sex tryst and then take the book upstairs with me. I swallowed, seeing him eat so much delicious food while I sat, inhaling the aroma. I watched as the man had his fill, even letting the waitress have the rest of the food while he pulled me out of the restaurant. My stomach rumbled in protest as we got into the car, driving off. I glared at the man seated beside me, refusing to talk to him. Once we arrived at the mansion, I hurriedly returned to my room to find that the snacks I'd hidden had been taken away by the man too. My eyes watered. How cruel! Completely defeated, I walked down the stairs, heading to the kitchen to look for food, but all I found were raw ingredients stacked in the fridge.

She was just what my monster was craving. I looked over to my left and found the phone. I gently ripped it from the wall so it wouldn’t make a sound and then pulled the knife from my pocket. I cut the cord and quietly walked closer to her. This one would be quick. I just needed to feed the beast. She was a fighter as I pulled the cord around her neck. She struggled against me gasping for air. The pan of bacon fell to the floor and made a loud noise. She was gasping and fighting trying to say something but I wasn’t listening. I watched as her life left her eyes and she went limp in my arms.

By chance did they create this monster? Shhh!! Don't think too much. My dad won't commit these kinds of sinful activities, neither Uncle Hayle does. I flipped the page one by one finding every detail is boring. It's my tenth time that I'm reading this book since I came here and I want a change. Wait.. Today morning Rakesh gave me a book, isn't he? Yeah! Yeah! But where I kept that book? Ahh! How careless I'm. I dug my bag but there is no trace of any book except 'The Heil Hunting Monster' that I'm currently reading.

Still, he finds a way to smile, even as the beast leans over to bite his head off. The monster closes its mouth over his head, snapping it cleanly right off his neck. More blood gushes out seemingly everywhere, painting the cave walls and dripping on the pockets of water between the rocks. His bones crunch as it chews, and soon enough, it goes in for more, digging into his chest and taking big bites here and there. And just like that, the proclaimed blessed one is eaten by the very thing he praised. Larkin is gone. But the monster is still hungry.

They eat people. Ryker smiled at her innocent words. Only if she knew that Monsters don't come thorns and tails on them but they just look like human, deceive people with their looks and then eat them. Just like Abhinendra and the rest of the people of the haveli who ate her life, childhood, dreams, freedom and what not. Monsters look like him angry, violent and untameable. He wasn't also less than a monster and an angel like her doesn't deserve him.
