I stayed quiet hoping that she would burn herself out, I heard the phone drop again and this time a woman screamed. “Stevie! Noooo! You get off of her you blood-sucking parasite!” I heard Finnley growl at her. I could hear chains rattling and Finnley snarling, then I heard the same bone-cracking and thud that I'd heard earlier. I wanted to scream out or punch something in pure rage, as I listened to Finnley howl and cry his eyes out. I could feel his heartbreaking and there was fuck all I could do to help him. I knew I couldn't make any noise; I couldn't let Freya, or my mom know what I was up to.

Might as well see what happens to Heathcliff. I opened the book and began reading. At chapter nine I heard the backyard door open and close. "Wow! I can't believe she's actually reading that!" a smooth voice with a British accent exclaimed. "I know, I don't even know where mine is. Hey, can I borrow yours?" another familiar one with an Indian accent asked. "In your dreams, Amira." I put my book down and Indi and Andi were standing in front of me, smirks on their faces.

Kendra persisted with a patience in her voice that surprised even Olga. Alice could feel Kendra standing in front of her. Not sensing the anger that she’d expected, she slowly pulled her face from her hands. “Arthur was looking for a place to camp for the night. They came out of nowhere. The horses spooked and ran. “Oh. Okay. Thanks.” Phin told himself that Emily was silent on the ride to her apartment because she was tired, but he knew better. He almost apologized, but that would only make things worse. Because he didn’t want her to think he didn’t want her. He also didn’t want her to think he did want her. What a mess he’d gotten himself into. “This is it,” said Emily, pointing. Phin parked on the street, squinting at the run-down building with trash scattered in front of it. Cats screeched nearby, while something that looked like a raccoon riffled through the bags of trash. A homeless man was curled up near the stairs to the building.

The day Finian Relish found the coin, he had been stomping down Old Mucury Road, having just had a spat with his sister Odessa. The sun was high in the sky and scorching on that particular Sunday afternoon, but our main character was a bit what'd you say overdressed. As Caitlin flew over the Bronx, she was horrified to see the extent of the devastation occurring on the streets beneath her. On block after block, there was bloodshed, vampires gorging on humans, openly in the night. There were also humans attacking humans, trying to flee in the chaos. It was anarchy. And she couldn’t help but feel responsible. If she’d had just held onto the Sword, if she hadn’t let it slip away, perhaps none of this would’ve happened.

Anna POV: Chapter Thirty Nine: No good place like home. I could feel the ground pounding away under my feet. The earth felt like it was calling me back to it.
