It was my first ever book since I downloaded this w******l app, and it has been my favorite ever since. It tells the story of Carter, the son of a poor farmer in the countryside. Because of how penniless they are, they have to sell Carter—who’s an 18 years old that year—to the capital to work as a guard. His change started when the horse cart that brought him and 12 other village kids got ransacked by a goblin. Every single one of them died except Carter who managed to escape into the forest.

He forcefully slammed the door shut, startling Avery and even the workers. "What in the world is his problem?" Avery muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes in annoyance. David leaned heavily against the door, the weight of betrayal crashing down on him. Alex, his own brother, had always tormented him, but David never imagined he would go as far as stealing his woman.

“Let’s go!” I ran into the cave, followed by Xander, but one minute he was in his human form and the next, he leaped forward and his paws hit the cave floor. Several of The Outsiders charged toward us, and I cut off their heads with the sword and ripped out their hearts instantly, causing their bodies to burst into flames upon the ground. With a wave of my arm, I threw several more against the wall and then ripped off their heads as they suddenly burst into flames. As we fought our way inside, the burning bodies of The Outsiders illuminated the cave, revealing three other caves.

I suppose given time their colors would possibly show but until then I will attempt to believe that this Cyrus guy was decent. I set my apartment keys on the kitchen table and hoped that Jem wasn’t going to move them by morning. Why was my life so strange and complicated when it came to the paranormal shit?
