Beauty And The Prince[Checkmate, Mr Ex-Husband]

Beauty And The Prince[Checkmate, Mr Ex-Husband]

Inez’s face turned pale, and her hands clenched tight on her dress. I finally recalled where I’d seen the man from. We recently signed a business agreement together, and from what he just said, I deduced that he was my woman’s former husband. “It’s good you signed the divorce papers. Now you’re free to whore around as you please. That’s what you’re good at doing after all, isn’t it? Being a whore!” Dexmond mocked. Pure rage unfurled through my body, and I felt the sudden need to ram his head against the wall.

His Wildest Desire: 90 days with the sexy billionaire

Beauty screamed with all her willpower as the man kept hitting her. " Please, Diana. I beg you." She whispered this time. " Let you go? Tch. I want you and your baby dead. " " Even if you kill me, Mason would hate your forever." " Do you think I don't know? I'm a phsyco, I do what I like. It's better neither of us has him than for you to have him." " So that's what this is all about? I see. You cant have him so you'd rather see him dead than see him happy." Beauty said and she chuckled.

Heal me

Heal me

“ wolves . “ her heart stopped beating, deeming it unnecessary to continue doing it when she was going to die anyway. she wanted to faint ,to return back to the comforting hold of darkness , but her mind refused what her body wanted she was a princess and she would die with honor. “ your execution would be carried out on the Emperor's order , he isn't in the Empire now so you have a day to be free from death, after that.... “ the beauty said and she nodded accepting reality. there was nothing she could do to escape . “ can I ask for my last wish before my execution? ” it would be disgraceful to die with an empty stomach. the beauty frowned , perhaps she wasn't used to being addressed by a co

CEO PLUS SIZE CRUSH

CEO PLUS SIZE CRUSH

“Enjoy your evening.” The lady said after handing over the package and the bouquet with a gentle smile. “Thanks”. She replied. They left, leaving her standing there in the doorway, holding the box of chocolate cake and a bouquet of roses. After Beauty snapped out of it, she slowly closed the door, leaning against it for support as she tried to process what had just happened. She took the note to read again. “You are perfect just the way you are.” Tears welled up in her eyes again, but this time they weren’t tears of sadness

I'm enjoying the book very much however there seems to be a continuity issue. I just finished the chapter A PROPOSAL OR SOMETHING and the next chapter is MAYBE IT CAN BE FIXED. However it seems like there's a whole lot that has been skipped. between these two chapters or something is out of order?

The story is hilarious and loving it so far. The only part that bothers me is how much her eating habits are insinuated. We understand that she is overweight/obese/etc so expressing how much she eats is over the top. There are other ways to describe her weight other than highlighting her food intake

The Royal Ascension

The Royal Ascension

“It’s you, Princess. You lost your husband and child. You lost your family and future. Even if I die and you’d live, you will never be happy. You are alive but you will live in hell the rest of your life.” My fist clenched. “You are right. My life will never be the same after this. I will never be happy again. Killing you won’t make me happy as well. You know what would it give me?” I gave him my sweetest venomous smile as I said the last word he would hear from me. “Satisfaction.” In this world were cruelty is rampant and justice has many faces, only evil can defeat evil.

Frequently Asked Questions

The thing about 'Prisoner of Beauty'—if that's the one I'm thinking of—is it dangles that tragic possibility the whole time, right? The tone just never lets you settle. All those lavish descriptions of decay and the obsession with preserving fleeting moments set up this dread that the cost of beauty has to be some kind of spiritual death. So when I hit the ending, the one where the protagonist chooses to walk away from the gilded cage, even if it means losing that perfect, static aesthetic… man, I threw my tablet. Not in anger, but like this weird, breathless relief mixed with grief. It felt earned, but it also felt like losing something. Closure came from seeing the character finally choose something messy and human over something perfect and dead. It wasn't about happy or sad in a simple sense; it was about the integrity of the character's arc. A 'happy' ending where they stayed, eternally beautiful and eternally trapped, would have been the real tragedy, and I think I'd have felt cheated. The bittersweet release was the only thing that fit the narrative's own logic.

That said, I totally get readers who wanted the pure escape of a happier resolution. Sometimes you're in it for the romantic fantasy of it all, the surrender to the aesthetic, and having that fantasy dismantled can feel like the author punishing you for buying into the premise. I saw a review that called the ending a 'cop-out moral lesson,' and I kinda see that perspective too. The closure depends entirely on what you, as a reader, were a prisoner to: were you invested in the dark, gothic romance of the captivity, or in the psychological struggle for autonomy? The ending serves one master way better than the other.
