(Y'all know that TikTok sound, right? Cue the health problems, medication mountain, AND final exams trying to murder me in cold blood. Oh, and let’s not forget the ghostwriting hustle for clients because, you know, medical bills don’t pay themselves. Fast forward to January: school came back swinging at me in full force, work piled up, and guess what? This poor book baby got shoved into a dusty corner of my drafts. UNTIL (In Ray William's voice. You know that TikTok guy that mostly does crime stories right? With the animations on half the screen and mug shots at the end? Yes, you've guess right, I watch too much TikTok. You're not allowed to judge).

"Fine, I might be capable, but I don’t want to. I don’t want to be that person. I don’t want to live that life. That’s not who I am or who I want to be. I’m sorry, Tatiana. I don’t want to upset you, I wish we could compromise but I’m not the person you’re looking for." Tatiana’s tone dropped significantly and there was a new frightening edge to her voice. I glanced up at Tori, unable to hide the shaking in my hands. "Well, then I’ll remind you how anxious I am for your new book readings. I’m looking at your schedule. Very optimistic of you to book so many readings when you won’t make it past the first one on the list." Before I could answer, she hung up the phone and I felt my knees buckle

"No problem. Since you praised me so sincerely, I promise to help you out. Where does Elliot want to go for the livestream?" Hamish remained silent, suddenly realizing he might have asked the wrong person. It was supposed to have been broadcast on TikTok, and TikTok belonged to her. Elliot looked at Sophia and said calmly, "TikTok." Sophia paused for a moment, then looked at Hamish seriously. "Well, if it's TikTok, I think you should definitely go. TikTok is the largest short video platform in the country, with amazing traffic and monetization capabilities. Someone as handsome as you could easily find a new path to success with just one livestream. How about it?"

Although they tried to mask it, I could see that they were exhausted. “The Book finally said something,” I began once everyone was well seated. “I hope it includes how we can push a burning stick into that motherfucker's ass?” Kaleb asked, twirling a glass of wine. He was always eating, as I'd observed. “Unfortunately, it didn't. Its revelation isn't much use either.” I sighed, and repeated the words I'd told Zeke earlier on. “So, I've taken it upon myself to seek for a solution.” I said, scanning each of their faces. I deliberately didn't tell them what exactly the Book had shown me.

I say and Richard shrugs. “That’s not really your problem, is it? If she is smart, she will use the one you get her,” he says and I nod as I look out of the window. Maybe Richard is right. I can salvage the costs with the book sale, feeding this whole losing her mind thing. “She is trending on social media, there are videos everywhere, and if you dig a little, people comment they can’t get their hands on her book,” Richard says and I hold his phone in my hands scrolling through the millions of posts about her. Shit.
