The Promise Love

This book gathers different love stories, yes, love stories. All these stories that I collected over time, that were told to me by friends, acquaintances, relatives and others from my own imagination ink. And perhaps, there is some coincidence.

For some , love that can't be is enough reason for them to fall apart but for others , it's a fight they are willing to endure . Their course of love never run smooth since the taboo tries to prevent them from being in a relationship openly . Opposed by the whole world due to cultural ,societal and religious norms because the condemned love trope consists of taboo in society ,class difference , feuding families , religious restrictions ,not forgetting the age difference hence it would be hard or even impossible for them to be together. As they say ,' there is a charm about the forbidden that makes it unspeakably desirable ,'we always long for the proscribed things ,desire what is denied us and crave what we can't have .Therefore , they put their trust and faith into the love that is prohibited and vow to do their best to achieve that happily ever after ending we all want BUT the million dollar question is will their illicit love be enough reason for them to fall apart or it's a fight they are willing to endure no matter the matter ? With the fact that love we can't have is the one that last the longest , hurts the deepest and feels the strongest in mind ,will the power of love hold their relationship so it will last till only death do them apart or the deepest pain their love brings will result in them breaking up ? Will their banned love be enough to test everything that goes their way ? Pierre Paul Abutu gives a humorous, fascinating and dispassionate narration of the unique intimate and romantic events of his life from teenage to adolescence, and into the early stages of his adult life. This narration revolves around the lives, and relationships of sixteen ladies with whom he shared happy, intimate, eventful and evergreen moments of his life with. These love affairs occur in Pierre Abutu’s life, at his university, the Augustine Nnamani Campus, Agbani, in Enugu Campus of the Nigerian Law School, Akwa Ibom State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Due to his religious beliefs, personal convictions, personal principles, metaphysical and supernatural predictions and postulations, the media, intellectual and literary effects in his life, most of these affairs either ended abruptly or amicably. These love affairs also reveal the negative attitudes, traits and deceptive machinations of these girls and ladies. Even though certain unpleasant and resultant effects were never intended at any particular stage, or with any of these girls and ladies, one thing was very clear: each love affair was and would always be evergreen to Pierre Abutu.
