The Lunar Queen's Redemption
Her armor, once blazing with lunar runes, hung in tattered pieces; vestiges of infernal fire had been scraped away, leaving her body bruised and raw.
“Awake at last,” a voice purred, a velvet coo that dripped with malice.
Nyra turned her head toward the cell’s entrance. There stood Councilor Seris, draped in crimson silk, eyes glinting like bloodstones. At her side strode two armored guards, axes slung at their backs.
“Queen of Ash,” Seris said; “or should I say Queen of Nothing?”
Nyra’s lips curled in a snarl, but her throat felt like sand. “Release me,” she rasped. “Or... ”
