Just as Gia was about to step toward the bed, Raven's overly cheerful tone triggered her suspicions. "That man is more than just sly, Gia!" She thought to herself as she turned her steps toward him. "On the second row from the top left shelf, you’ll see a blue book titled 'If Tomorrow Comes.' Take it and read it to me," Raven said. "Like a bedtime story?" Raven’s request was far from what Gia expected. She moved toward the shelf to grab the book. "You could consider it like that if you want. But it's not a storybook. A friend of mine wrote it. I promised to read it a while ago, but circumstances delayed that."

“The mailroom’s downstairs, if…” “I’m looking for…” The delivery man checked the tablet balanced on top of the unmarked white box. “…a Raven Cannon. Is anyone by that name here? I need a signature.” Raven rose shakily, trying to steady herself with her hands against her desktop. Quickly, she slipped the folder into a desk drawer and locked it, closing the tiny key in her fist like a talisman. Then she let it fall into her pocket and stepped out into the common space. “I’m here,” she said, trying to be brave.

CHAPTER ONE “The Raven King…” Liana gasped softly. Her heart raced as she stared at the whiteboard. The words felt like music to her ears. This was it, the topic she’d been waiting for all semester. The infamous king who ruled with ravens circling his throne, the one whispered about in bedtime stories and blood-soaked legends. The lecturer finally turned to face the class. “When did this historical story take place?” Before he even finished, Liana’s hand shot up. Her pulse fluttered in excitement. She wasn’t the loud type. In fact, most people barely noticed her, but this….this was her moment.

After the jostle in the car, he finally halted the car in front of a huge building in the woodland. No one would imagine the building was there except they were too curious. It's actually a sanctuary home which Raven had built for refugees that were attacked in a remote town by the werewolves or any places they had escaped from. They were able to get treatments and free food to survive on while most of them seemed to have their sons work with Raven since she was their life saver. Even females were volunteers for this kind of job.

Osric answers while sitting on the edge of the lounge near Raven’s head making her smile. “How are you doing? It’s a big tattoo, you hurting yet?” I question, looking down at her hip to see the raven in red ink at the top of her hip taking up almost her entire thigh. The tattoo is very cool, the Raven is in a defensive attack position and made of knots like you would see in old Norse temples. “Enjoying talking to these guys, and getting to know Ares a bit better, it stings when it’s right over the bone but not bad,” Raven admits while looking down at the tattoo gun pressing against her skin, as Ares works on the dark red outline.

As I stepped out, my eyes caught sight of a book. 'Sorcery: The introduction' was what was printed in beautiful cursive on the spine of the book. I pulled it out of its place and two other books fell over where its position had been. Curiosity caused me to open the first page and I find the name of the coven there. "Welcome to the Ravens Den Coven", it said. My eyes skim through the things written on the page and I flip over to the next page. What I find there causes my heart to stop. It causes my whole world to almost fall apart.

I can't wait to see how they spend Christmas here. "Just one more shop, it is my favourite and we can go eat after that," Raven tells me when I start getting tired. "Fine. But just one." I warn her, and she smiles widely at me. We go to her favourite shop, and Raven looks around and finds a beautiful dress. It was dark blue which was strapless, and with a cute bow on the side. But unfortunately for her, the dress was a bit tight, and the store did not have a bigger size, and Raven was pretty bummed up about it.

I finally got home at night from a party. It was pretty boring, so I tried to decide what to do with the rest of my Friday night. Mmmm... I'm hungry I know that much. Walking into the house I called out to Raven. No answer. I called again. "Maybe she's sleeping." I said to myself, "if you're asleep Raven you'll pay I swear." I shouted ahead of myself so if she woke she would know what was coming. I walked upstairs to see the door slightly ajar. Opening it, I could see no one in the room before me. She never goes out, she has no friends, we made sure of that!

Otherwise I'm gonna get that full 24/7 lecture . Yeah it's weird how I'm an adult . And I still get those stupid teenage lectures. *************************** RAVEN'S POV I went to the company I'm supposed to work in . I guess . 'ONE STROKE' is written so big on this stupid building . I wonder whose idea it was . It would be so great if they really get a stroke one day . A brain stroke or maybe heart one , anyways they die . It really doesn't matter how . That's why I think I should do that honour .
