He rolled his bottom lip down, making me huff with amusement. “He is handsome,” I commented. “Uh huh.” Kian nodded with agreement. “And he already knows a few choice words.” I narrowed my eyes in a silent analysis. “Where did Jaxton get him from, and how old is he?” Kian was ready for this and was quick to jump to the bird’s defense. “Now, please don’t judge.” His serious face made me want to laugh. I had to press my lips together and fold my arms across my chest just to hear him out. “Jaxton rescued him from a brothel in Lakewell,” he revealed.

“We divide responsibilities. Sandra monitors the street. Lou assists Gail in recording any incidents. Jake… stays vigilant. Mathapelo and Kate reinforce spiritual and protective measures.” Jake, sitting heavily on the couch, shook his head. “I’ve already caused enough trouble. If I stay awake all night, I’ll lose my mind. They will come for me eventually, and I can’t let them drag the family down.” Abby placed a hand on his shoulder. “Then you stand here with us. No one faces this alone. You may have started the fire, but we will control the flames.”

"You're right. I have a mate who is ten times better than she will ever be. Let's go. I have some people that are special to me to meet" They got to where the people who were freed were resting. As soon as Jake saw him, he stood up and ran to him. They hugged for a while before they separated "I'm so happy to see you man. We thought you were dead" he said. "I'm so happy to see you too. It was the help if the moon goddess that I and my pack are still alive." He said.

None were ever seen again. The scene was such an anticlimactic end to a great day, we all lost our minds. We just stood and looked at each other like we had been shocked out of a trance, waiting to see what came next. From here on, everyone was confused, and gave me strange looks, except for Sam who smiled at me and said, "you're a strong woman!" I chuckled in return, though still feeling weak. The bleeding automatically stopped and in a blink, Joey appeared before us. Now, everyone could see him. Sam and Ben flinched at his sight, but I didn't move an inch. "Thank you all for freeing my soul." He stretched forth his right hand, wanting to shake the guys, but unfortunately, he couldn't.

“Oh, right. It says ‘Instructor’ right there.” I smirk. “Busted.” “Guess I picked the right snowbank, then.” “You’re lucky” I say, standing. “I happen to specialize in hopeless cases.” He lets me help him to his feet, his balance still questionable. “In that case, I owe you.” “No charge for the first rescue.” I tease. “But the next one’s gonna cost you.” He laughs this soft, genuine sound that makes me want to hear it again. “I’m Jake” he says.

Jake sneered, "there's no time for pleasantries. Quickly revive the child." The two men looked at each and shrugged, "sir, we're just bounty hunters, what do we know about reviving drowned kids?" Damnit! Jake cursed. Even though he had done camping with his family and could basically survive everywhere. The one thing he couldn't get himself to do was first aid. While Jake went on his knees and began to pump the little girls chest, Ian Crow and the other riders rushed by the river, crushing their horses into the water before grabbing a few germ stones.

“Relax. We’re almost done.” They moved deeper in as they crouched near the tunnel wall. I stayed where I was—half in, half out. Close enough to see them but far enough to look like I wasn’t really part of this. Jake pulled a small bag from his backpack, his eyes gleaming. “You guys ready for this?” “Legendary,” Matt said. Lucas snorted. “Manchester won’t know what hit them.” Jake took out his phone, flipped the camera around. “This is going to be iconic.”

" I assisted Jake in standing up, holding him up as we walked back to the camp. The villains observed us, their eyes shining with amusement and a hint of something more sinister. I gently lowered Jake next to a tree and started to attend to his injuries. His face was covered in cuts and bruises, with one eye starting to swell closed. "Stay calm," I whispered, using a piece of fabric ripped from my shirt to gently clean a particularly bad wound on his cheek. Jake let out a painful hiss but refused to retreat. He weakly joked, "Our first camping trip didn't go as I had imagined." I attempted to grin, but it came off as more of a grimace. "Yeah, in the future, we will avoid the abduction aspect

Jude nodded, "I'll bring Jake in!" When Jude entered the basement, Jake was standing next to Gary and Gale. Gary and Gale were awake at that moment. Seeing Jake, they groaned in pain, "Sir, did you come here to save us?" Just as Jake was about to answer them, Jude came down the stairs. Jake shivered with fear and he snapped, "What are you talking about?" Jude glanced at the two men lying on the floor like they were a pile of garbage. ‘These two guys tried to hurt Jocelyn, and there's no way Mr. Moore is going to let them go.

I’m sure he was promised a generous amount of shares or maybe a project. I couldn’t help but wonder which of them was behind this. “Alright, now drink the wine,” I said, sliding the glass of wine towards him. “What?” He asked, his eyes wide in horror. Did he actually think he could just go free by telling his plans, he was more foolish than I thought. Jacob slapped him across the face, this time Mr. Monroe spat out some blood. “Drink it!” I commanded once more. He cast a fearful glance at me and Jacob, weighing his options. Funny he thought he had an option.
