FREYA’s POV I stand at the foot of the hill that leads to Light Paw Village as the sun above me begins to set. The place no longer looks like it used to. The once clear path is now overrun by weeds and littered with garbage. There are even carcasses of little animals lying around. Bats, rats and even rabbits. Hmm…did the rogues come after we all left the village? Perhaps. I sigh and close my eyes, tilting my head up towards the sky. It should be raining. Though a sudden downpour might slicken my climb, surely, it would cut the stench.

Dear Readers, Thank you all for supporting me and my first book Rise of the Alpha Queen. It has been a thrilling ride and I can't believe that I have reached the end of my first book! I love reading the reviews readers have left me about my book, even the ones that are less than positive. I take them in stride and try to be better for future books. I will be spending the next month going back through and editing my chapters, something I didn't have as much time as I would have liked while writing with a deadline these past few months, and then I will start on book 2.

I looked Sophie up and down, then said no more. Niles's face went dark immediately. Sophie looked pale and hurried to explain. She had worked so hard to get pregnant and earn Niles's trust. Now, I had ruined everything she had done. She glared at me with hatred and spat, "Anna, you asked for this." Suddenly, she collapsed backward and screamed, "Anna, what are you doing? Don't kill my baby! Ah!" Sophie hit the ground hard. Blood pooled beneath her, soaking through until it looked like she was nearly drowning in it.

“Someone would try something stupid. It happens all the time.” “In the movies that you watch?” Xavier frowned. “Doesn’t matter,” Rhea grunted. “I’m only looking out for you. I’m trying to protect you from your own people, Xavier. They would lead a revolt against you and kill you.” “I’ve been dead before,” Xavier laughed. “Can you remember how that turned out?” “I do,” Rhea frowned. “Calistè resurrected you so she can kill you again, herself. You didn’t come back on your own accord. You’re not immortal, Xavier. You can die!”

Watching her wake up has become one of my new favorite pastimes and I don’t want to miss it this morning, although she won’t wake up for another couple hours at least; she’s a night creature. I get up and walk back into the bedroom. Stopping at the foot of the bed, I laugh softly as I see the three of them tangled up in each other’s limbs. I then proceed to our library nook in another corner of our room, sit in my favorite chair, and pull out the romance novel I started to read last night. It is a good one. A story about an author who gets a movie deal and gets tangled up with the three male actors who audition to play characters in her book.

The book I was reading wasn't in sight, so I went exploring the shelves until I found it at the top. I opened it and began searching for information about my strange kidnapper and my nephew's father. It was then that I came across a title that caught my attention: “The Rise of Harvey Bloodclaw.”

This is my first book, and I'm really glad that it's complete. I really hope that y'all also support my other stories (Resurgence) who is also available on GoodNovel. Resurgence is the book 2 from the Color Series. And ILLICIT is the book one. Once again thank you for reading and supporting Skye and Adeline's love story.
