A faint glow of fire licked across his skin before his body surged, bones cracking, muscles reshaping. In a blinding shimmer of heat and flame, his human form gave way to scales of obsidian and crimson. His wings unfurled with a thunderclap, shaking the ground. The dragon loomed before them, magnificent and terrifying. The ground trembled beneath his claws. His voice, layered with magic, rumbled from his throat: Climb on.

RHEA’S POV: The sky splits the moment she rises. It starts with a hush... too complete to be natural. The air tightens around me like a fist. The trees lean in, their leaves frozen in breathless awe. I can feel it in the marrow of my bones: something old has awakened. The dragon. She unfurls from the earth like a storm given form. Her scales, no longer dulled by blood and suffering, shimmer with defiant power - violet threaded with gold, like twilight set on fire.

Hello, everyone! This is XSkylar19. It has been a very interesting ride for me while writing Bane of the Dragons because (fun fact) this was my very first dragon genre. I know some of you probably disliked how everything turned out or how fastpaced everything happened but know that this was intentional as I couldn't drag the story on. Anyway, while this book becomes the first book for dragon genre, it certainly wasn't my first book in the fantasy genre.
