Dante’s POV I woke up already upset, my concise made me toss and turn the whole night. I absolutely hated how I ended things with River, I wanted things to end to protect her from myself. I didn't want to be the man that hurts a woman because he is not ready for a relationship. But the way I ended it was terrible and the fact that I knew she would absolutely hate me right now and had the right to did not sit well in my chest. I got up from my bed swinging my legs on the ground to touch the cool tiles. I needed coffee to clear the fog in my mind before I took a shower and headed to work.

“Feel free to clean it. Consider that your payment for the operation.” Emily scoffed. “I don’t know how.” “Of course you don’t,” he replied dryly, peering over his glasses. “Let me guess. You’re a young mistress from a River house?” (River is a civilized, properly developed, city. The neighbouring city Rivermirror being the exact opposite. A city starved, soaked in poverty, crime, and malice. There are, however, no borders separating the two.)

“Sammy is getting torn apart by his father by now. Victor is surrounded by enemies who smile to his face. I cannot just sit here and read while everything burns.” “And you cannot keep acting like you are invincible,” she snapped. River rubbed his face with his hands. “Jayden,” he said carefully, “did you even finish reading that Gem of Life book.” I froze. “…No,” I admitted. Jane made a sound like she was about to scream into a pillow. “I actually read the whole thing,” River continued, and I turned to him in shock. “I wanted to understand how a human like you can do all this. And also if I could do it too.”

She says, feeling surprised. "You mean; you've never felt that way before?" Hayden asks carefully. River is silent for a while, "No. After my mom's demise, I've only felt anger, pain and resentment; nothing else." She finishes, staring at her palms now, as She traces imaginary lines on them nervously. Anger swelled in Hayden now, he wanted to make whoever had done this pay. Oh no, he was becoming more possessive of her by the day. "And who was the reason?" He dares ask in his enraged state, furry restrained in each word. To which River fails to pick up as she is preoccupied with her past memories. But not the driver, who feels it and begins to mutter prayers for his safety.

James – POV “Do you think Rachel would be proud?” I asked River as we walked home that night. River looked up at the stars. “I don’t know,” they said softly. “But I think she’d be quiet.” “Why?” “Because sometimes pride is too big for words.”

River Black River held the candelabra in her hand, holding it aloft, looking around the huge room. It was so big, it dwarfed her living room back at her parents’ house. Everything was draped in white cloth and for a moment, she felt lost in that room too. It had no windwos and seemed to be below ground, in a basement level, though she wasn’t entirely sure. It had been a disorientating walk in the dark mansion. River hoped it was nicer during the day. Less confusing. In truth, she hoped that when she woke up, she’d be inside her tent, safe and sound and all this would be a strange dream.

River answers simply. River suddenly realizes that there was no substance with Nate, and River could feel it. Usually meeting gorgeous men, who showed interest would spark something. There wasn't as much as a flicker, and River silently cries for escape. Nothing stood out, and nothing seemed exciting, so River was utterly underwhelmed, and quickly made up his mind to leave.

"The diviner said the thing beneath this ground is the reason my body grows weaker by the day. Dig carefully. Don't miss a single inch." Father's heart shook. He struggled with all his strength against the hands restraining him. "Seraphina! Beneath that ground is my younger sister. She took an assassin's arrow through the heart to save you. Stop this!" Mother answered without concern. "She is only a dead person, Gideon. Eli and I are your family now. Why cling to old grief? You should move on." Father jerked his head up and stared at Mother as if he could not believe it. When Mother first learned that my aunt had died saving her, she had knelt on the ground crying and begged my aunt to open

Riley laughed, hugging Lucas and Tiffany back, and then looked at River. “I think you’d better start reading that book,” she teased. “We’ve got some important decisions to make.” River nodded, still overwhelmed. He glanced down at the book in his hands, his heart full. “I think I’ll start right now,” he said, his voice laced with happiness. Author Note: This is end of Riley and River's plot. River whispers, turning her back to Tatum, who I stare at with longing. “Yeah.” I mutter. “But she can never know.” “She has a right to choose.” River says, looking over her shoulder, then up at me. “She deserves to know.” “I’m not a choice.” I say, grabbing a plate and loading my food up. River watches me with sad eyes, so I stop and look at her. “It’s an impossibility.” She scoffs. “That’s what everyone says about the Ghost Wolves. Yet, I’ve seen them. Impossible is just what people say when they haven’t found a way yet. So find a fucking way.”
