I knew that girl had a secret. The pieces were clicking together so fast I could barely keep up with them. No home address on record. Always first in, last out. CHAPTER 1 Golden High School. 10:00 am. A young girl was standing under an oak tree when she dropped the last of her cigarette butts. The girl was Alicia, Alicia Perth. Alicia's sea-like blue eyes looked down at her feet, which were wrapped in black ankle boots. The boots had stepped on the remains of a cigarette, causing it to crumble and mingle with the asphalt on the street.

Curiosity won the tug of war and she lifted the case and gently opened it. Inside, laid upon shining white satin, was an exquisite silver charm bracelet. Blair lifted it from the case and held it up, exclaiming over the delicate charms evenly spaced along its length.

They told them Thea would save them if they used the code words, ‘let’s go to the bar. The next day, those girls gathered around Thea’s locker. Could it be that she was helping them? I had to follow. Thea must have known I was following. I don’t know how. I mask my scent. No one has discovered me living at the school, eating from the cafeteria at night, staying hidden in the ceiling during the day. This whole situation was turning out to be far messier than I ever anticipated. “Let's go,” I told Fiona, my voice barely above a whisper. Shooting Sabrina one last look, I pushed open the door and we quickly made our exit. As soon as we were out on the bustling street, Fiona grabbed my arm and unceremoniously yanked me into a quieter side alley.

Chapter Five Nathalie I slump on a bench under some trees with shades against sunlight feeling utterly exhausted. Lou stretches a bottle of chilled water to me as he takes his seat beside me silently. I gladly accepted it, open the cap and take huge gulps till my thirst is quenched. I just had my last class—I mean we just had our last class of the day. Words couldn't express how surprised I was when Lou followed me into the lecture room. Apparently, dad arranged with the school to allow Lou to be with me in all my classes. He introduced himself as a transfer student but my professors have already been informed that he's my bodyguard and under no circumstance are they allowed to disclose his

The second in command said to them and they dispersed quickly, taking the secret route they had used to break-in the school. Morris and the other goon hid behind a wall and watched the young pretty girl walked down the stairs to find her guards weren't there anymore. Immediately she turned around with her back facing them, their leader yelled at them. "Do it now! And quickly! We've got an approaching boy."

"You must go underground, to the left of the parking lot. They have a secret passage, but only a few people can open it, so I don't know how to open it." The girl didn't look up to look into Kate's eyes. Kate was no fool. After being betrayed many times, she would no longer hear this girl's lie. "You have the key because you're an exceptional team member of Dr. San; otherwise, your so-called master wouldn't have allowed you to take care of me, am I right? Kate asked her while staring at her intensely. She didn't miss the guilty expression on that girl's face. The girl didn't dare to look up; she was a tough nut to crack. Kate smiled, and she viciously pressed the button again.
