Suddenly a mischievous idea came to mind,I grinned taking out the fake robot chrockroaches I made, how about a little prank. I tiptoed to Stacey's room opening the door gently I peeped in to see if she was awake. After making sure she was asleep, I stepped into the room, i gently walked closer to her bed,, lifted her shirt and dropped the chrockroach on her back then left the room. I did the same to Erick and Jace before turning on the robots with the little remote in my hand The chrockroaches began crawling all over their bodies while they woke with a start, they started screaming trying to get the fake bugs of their bodies while I rolled in laughter

Chase shot out backward like a cannonball and crashed hard into a tree. "Bastard!" Chase struggled to stand. There was a dent in his chest, and it felt like his internal organs were squashed. He was in great pain. "Either you or I will die today, Chase Collins!" Scoot grunted coldly. The vital energy in his body boiled, forming a burning golden flame that scorched the plants all around him. He leaped into the air and raised his blade high. The blade was burning furiously, powerful heat emanating from it.

The flames surged toward Adrian in an instant. My mother heard the commotion and immediately pushed him away. The fire scorched her arm, burning off a large patch of skin. Even after it healed, it left a hideous scar. Adrian had been distraught back then. He touched my mother's scar repeatedly while apologizing. He felt immensely guilty. But my mother comforted him, "I don't think it's ugly at all. Look, it even looks like a star. It means you're a blessing to our family."

Yet, I had survived. "Is that a pearl of refreshment?" She asked. I nodded, so it was real. "You actually have a chance at getting the tooth." She said excitedly. "The next trial will be the most physically demanding yet," Kali warned. "Prepare yourself, Dorian. It's the Furnace of Courage." The fourth trial was set deep in a volcanic cavern where the air was thick with heat and an acrid smell of sulfur. Rivers of molten lava flowed through the chamber and cast an eerie, red glow that painted the jagged walls in flickering shadows.

I asked him. “I’m looking for information on the trials. It apparently goes by a couple of different names. Angel Trials, Stonehenge Trials, Cursed Trials, and so on. As far as it’s recorded, it’s never been completed. I promise you Rose, that we won’t give up on getting back your babies. No matter whether your men beat the trials or not.” He said. I gulped, trying not to think about the fact that no one had ever completed the trials before. I hoped with multiple men, it would increase their chances of success.

The battle was fierce, each blow from the golems sending shockwaves through the room, and the group found themselves working in perfect unison, their movements becoming a dance of survival. Finally, after what felt like hours, the last golem crumbled to the ground in a heap of broken stone. The chamber was silent once more, save for their labored breathing. “That was close,” Seraphina said, wiping sweat from her brow. “But we’ve passed the first trial.” Before they could catch their breath, the voice boomed again. “The next trial is the Trial of Resolve. Only those with unshakable will can pass.” The room shifted, and suddenly, the air grew colder. A vision appeared before them—a swirling mi

“No one will lay a hand on her.” “It doesn’t have to be combat,” Merek said slyly. “Let her take the Trial of Proven Flame. Let her walk the sacred stones. Let her face what we all faced when we came of age. If she is truly meant to lead, the Goddess will protect her.” I swallowed hard. I’d heard of the Trial. A walk across the blistering firestones—stone pathways imbued with old magic, each one testing a wolf’s spirit, pain threshold, and will. Many had collapsed, and some had died.

One of them, a tall alpha with scars across his jaw, stepped forward. "First trial begins now," he announced. "Timed run through the woods. Each team must retrieve three marked flags. Teams stay paired at all times. Anyone caught alone forfeits the trial." Jason's stomach dropped. He was still assigned to Avalon, and the thought of spending hours alone with him in the forest made his skin crawl. But worse than that was the physical challenge ahead. A run through rough terrain meant sweating, and sweating meant his scent blocker would weaken. "Go back to your cabins," the instructor continued. "Freshen up, eat breakfast, then report back here in one hour."

“Don’t give her another chance to say you lost control.” Joy had bitten her tongue. Not out of peace. Out of survival. If she’d opened her mouth, she might’ve said something that landed her in suspension. And suspension wasn’t an option. The Trials were in two days. Thornecrest’s next bloodsport. A formalized, sanctioned way for elite houses to tear each other apart and look good doing it. Before that? Two days of silence. Two days of secrets. Two days of prep. And Fiero had a call to make.

Aria mouthed a silent vow across the space between them. Rowan raised a torch. Flames leapt to life across the stones, forming a ring of blue, gold, and silver fire. The smoke curled upward like a prayer. “We gather for the Trial of Flame and Bone,” Rowan intoned. “One who loves shall suffer, that the innocent may be spared.” Aria stepped into the ring. The fire didn’t burn her. It pressed against her skin, hot and humming, as if testing her heart. Her breath caught, but she stood still.
