Jade collapsed fully into my arms, trembling violently. I cradled his face, pressing my forehead to his. “It’s over,” I whispered, kissing his hairline. “You’re safe. You’re safe with me.”
“Nobody is safe with the devil holding them,” Dante remarked, giving the tray back and resuming his position on the table. “If I didn’t know any better I’d say you were lovers from the way you are clinging to him.”
