I could feel the warmth of his breath, so close it was almost tangible. His fingers brushed lightly against my neck, sending a faint electric current through me, making me shiver. Just as his fangs were about to graze my neck, completing that fatal yet intimate mark, I jolted awake. To shake off the lingering effects of the dream, I quickly got up and washed my face. By the time I arrived at the research center, it was just past 7 a.m. Most of the team hadn't arrived yet. After preparing the spectrometer and biological reagents needed for the day's experiments, I started on cell cultures.

That day, I seemed to have a nightmare during the daytime. At a large table on the first floor of the studio, I sat on one side. And Patrick sat on the other side.
