We stood transfixed, paralyzed by the horror of the pit before us.
Serene gazed at the narrow bridge that crossed the pit, lined with writhing, hissing snakes and the fire that grows within every wind and second, "Really? We must cross this hell? Fuck," she cursed grimly in a weary, resigned tone.
Beatrice hesitated, speaking softly but cautiously, "The snakes alone are enough to give me nightmares for a moon cycle," she said, eyeing the writhing, hissing anacondas filling the pit with trepidation.
