I pull my hand back as fast as I can, clutching the laptop to my chest. I scramble away from the hole and quickly shove the piece of wood back into place. My heart is thumping wildly, like a drum in my chest. I am shaking so hard I can barely breathe. A snake in the floor? What kind of monster keeps a snake to guard his secrets?

I practically shouted my reply, “Of course I haven’t! As much as I am scared, she is dead, my brain tells me she is alive, and that we will find her. But..I can’t leave this starving thing alone here, it could have killed me, easily, I even wanted it to, but it didn’t.” Zin just looked me and then bent down to stare eye to eye with me before he spoke. “You will find that a snake doesn’t always bite at first, but the moment you turn to leave, your heel will become the obsession of its bite.” His whisper didn’t make me sacred, neither did his words, what scared me was the pain and hate I suddenly seen in those dark pools staring at me. The snake was the size of a desert cobra, red in colour, with green eyes and a black slithering toungue. "Bring her back to me!" The snake said,slithering still. "She is not yours to have,she created you,now you will listen!" Said Chloe. Monea began to move,she coughed slightly then stood up. "What is this?" She asked. Then she looked at the glass chamber and saw the snake she created. "Oh now I remember! Take me to my father where I asked you to!" She demanded "Your father is dead,so us your mother if you want them then come inside!" Said the snake.

Slowly, the purple mist took its final form, the INYOKA. The mother was alarmed at these strange activities; she tried to run away again, but her feet were not letting go. The large, venomous purple snake crawled towards her, and the mother freaked out as the snake climbed on her body, gliding its scaly self around her until it reached the baby.

The snake screamed a sickening, hissing scream, uncoiling around Boyd just enough for me to pull him under me, shielding him with my body as the fire raged inside of his mind, burning away the dark magic that had been poisoning him. The snake was still screaming, slithering to find an escape. There was no escape. The violet flames were everywhere, purifying every corner of Boyd’s mind.
