Once upon a time, this place had been my turf. I pushed open the door to see Janae sitting inside with a wide smile. She seemed to have been waiting for me. "You look like a stray dog now, Renee. So what if I'm a stand-in? I'm the one Marcus loves now, and you are nothing. You're not even worthy of being my stand-in now!" she said. I stood there dazedly and looked around the familiar room, feeling like my heart was bleeding. Then, I heard Marcus' voice in the distance—he was shouting and warning me not to do anything to hurt Janae.

Friend: "Relax, you were both consenting adults. Just enjoy the moment and don't overthink it." Jessica: "I don't even know how to contact him. What if I'm pregnant or something?" Friend: "Don't worry, you can take a pregnancy test in a few weeks. And as for him, it was just a one-night stand. You don't need to contact him if you don't want to." Jessica: "I guess you're right. I just hope I don't regret this later." Chapter 1 (continued): As Jessica was getting ready to leave the hotel room the next morning, the man she had spent the night with sat up in bed and looked at her with a smile.

"Do you feel sorry for this girl? After everything she's done to me? You know how she tried to steal my boyfriend, until she succeeded! She put a spell on Bryan! Because of her, her lies, he chose her!" I let out a low cry as I drag myself away from the darkness of the stands, my vision slowly adapting to the moonlight that bathes me... and my hand comes across a large stone, bigger than a fist, bloodied... It makes my stomach twist and, inevitably, I throw up on the floor, coughing, almost choking... And that shuts them all up for a brief moment... until Alice's laughter explodes in my ears again and her voice sounds high-pitched, "Ew, apart from being a sneaky bitch, she's disgusting!"

He whispers whilst rubbing my bare chest slowly but I stop him before his hands get to my boobs. "Let's talk business first Mr..." I reply but he interrupts. "Call me Sandler." He whispers seductively in my ears, making me feel even more irritated. "As you wish Sandler. Now here are my conditions. Firstly, this is a one time thing, I don't want you to think I'll be on your list of call girls. Secondly, you have to make sure my company wins that challenge no matter what and thirdly, you can't tell a soul about this because I wouldn't want either one of us to get into any trouble. Do you understand Sandler?" I state out my simple conditions and he nods his head to show he had agreed.

Guys, please read it before jumping towards the story. Book 2 of “Her Bidder,” For a better understanding, I’ll suggest reading “Her Bidder” first. This book is a stand-alone. However, few things are there whose proper detail mentioned in its 1st book.

"And why haven't you used it to get you some food?” “W-well… because… I'm not a guy,”I stuttered, blinking. Not a guy? That was some fucked up excuse. "So… the book is sexist?" Stan asked and I gave him an unusre nod. He bought it anyway. “Oh, alright." His face beamed with a smile as he grabbed the book from me and moved out of the line. I quickly slipped in before the space could close up. “Thank you, Stan," I said, grinning.

Now she was standing behind my father, naked in a blanket, like I didn’t exist like we didn’t exist. No one spoke. Not him. Not her. Not me. Just… three people standing in the wreckage of something that used to feel safe. My gaze flicked between them my dad, looking like he didn’t regret a damn thing, and Esme, looking like she wanted to melt into the floor. My throat burned. “I…” Esme started, her voice barely above a whisper. I held up a hand. “Don’t,” I said, and it came out rough. Broken.

"What are you reading? Besides the textbook." The change in subject threw me. "Um, I just finished The Stand by Stephen King." His eyes lit up. "The Stand? That's over a thousand pages. You actually finished it?" "I've read it three times," I admitted. "Three times?" He looked genuinely impressed. "Most people won't even read it once because of the length." "The length is part of the appeal," I said, feeling slightly more confident talking about books. "You get to live in that world for longer, get to know the characters so deeply. It's like being part of something bigger than yourself."

I felt nauseous, he hurriedly stood up and caught my hands. “ Please wait. Let's watch the movie.” Nothing was getting into my ear, only his words buzzed over and over again as my chest hammered and my breathing hitched in disbelief. I couldn't believe he would say something like that, I whispered in shock, “ One night stand.” His eyes became bulged, red and I didn't know if it was anger or tears about to pour from them. I wanted to be quiet, I didn't want to say a word but I couldn't bear it, I had to say something so I sputtered like a tap,

I stopped because of something in the tone. I slipped closer remaining in the landings shadow. The voices got more distinct. Although there were others Alexanders was the first I recognized—steady low and composed as usual. Unknown. more sharp. more trimmed. I stooped to get a glimpse. Three men were present. suits. Tensed shoulders. Some of the papers were already folded and in their pockets as they stood in a small arc close to the coffee table. On the other side Alexander stood tall his arms folded his brows slightly furrowed but thoughtful. Calculation.
