The Summer Of Broken Rules Characters Novels & Stories

In its place: a new note. Rule fifteen: Next time, aim for the heart. – A I touched my lips. They were swollen. 354 days. Rule twelve broken by Marco. Rule one broken by us. And rule zero, the one written in blood on the library floor: Alessandro De Santis will start wars for what’s his.

"Benjamin…just admit it. You stopped loving me a long time ago." He shook his head, tears falling. "No, Emma… I love you. I really do. I just… I just made a mistake." Cedric grabbed him by the collar and threw a punch straight into his face. "Benjamin, what did you promise me back then? And now you cheat on her? I'll beat you to death, you heartless bastard!" Blow after blow landed on him. Benjamin did not even fight back; he could not. Seeing that Cedric might actually beat him to death, I stepped forward and pulled him back.

“Cain's Crossing was, is I guess, still on? Anyway, it's about this small town in Oregon where all this strange stuff happens. It all starts with a teenage girl, Rachel Meers, getting murdered. She was this big-time debutante, and everyone loved her, or at least it seemed like everyone loved her. See, as the show goes on, you find out that pretty much everyone in the town had a reason to kill Rachel, who turns out was one of those people who manipulates everyone around them and plays them off each other for fun. Sociopath? Is that the right word? Yeah… Rachel was a big-time sociopath. So the show is all about trying to figure out which of the people she screwed over killed her. Now, I know t

I looked across the entire room. “And one more thing. Everyone standing here tonight, remember this. The Leon family can replace a district boss. It can replace drivers, lawyers, mistresses, accountants, and even the groom at a wedding. But the rules do not change. Anyone who tries to use this family as a ladder to climb up the ranks, I’ll break their legs.” This time, every single person lowered their head. I knew this fight was far from over. The real retaliation would begin tomorrow. However, I had been waiting for this day for far too long.

"What is this? Are you trying to make me feel better or something? Stop it, Allen. I don't need that kind of positive reinforcement. The fact is, I'm broken, right?" "Ash!" Aslan rolled his eyes. "What? Never mind, don't deny it. This has been my condition for a long time, right? Besides, I'm the one with the condition, you don't have to worry about it." Allen sighed. He knew Aslan just hated his condition, but Allen did not like it every time Aslan called himself broken. In Allen's eyes, Aslan was normal. A normal human being. He was just a little different from the other Alphas, and that did not change anything. He was still Allen's little brother, and Allen loved him.

“I did, Summer. And I’m not going to lie to you by saying I didn’t like every time I did it. It was for my survival……But I promise, none of them were good people. The creed eliminates only corrupt world leaders, wolves in sheep’s clothing. My first kill was the King of Monaco; he’d murdered and raped so many young girls serving as maids in his mansion, burying them in his backyard, and his wife covered for him. Every time I did it, my fulfillment wasn’t only about my siblings getting to attend the best schools, eating the best food, and no longer being close to our parents; it was in the fact that none of these men and women could terrorize anyone ever again. Summer…” he grabbed my hand even

Ethan taught me to read for endless afternoons, my first kiss was there, and consequently Nick's was also there. The first time I saw Ethan drunk, Anne's first broken heart, and when Tom got his driver's license. Even though it was confiscated that same day for him hitting the tree in our tree house. Typical Tom. Looking back I cannot understand how my life became what it is now. How could I have gotten so deep into the pit? At what point did everything go wrong? I think of the things I could have done differently. Maybe we would all still be together today. *** Chapter 1

“Two weeks. My rules. You do what I say, when I say it. Then, three months no pay. After that, we talk salary. Agreed?” Annabel swallowed, nodding. “Agreed.” His eyes roamed her face, then down to her hands. “You don’t look convinced.” She met his gaze, forcing a small smile. “I don’t have a choice, do I?” “Good answer,” he said, smirking. “We start tomorrow.” They spoke a few more minutes details, times, rules. She barely heard half of it; her mind was elsewhere. On the bills. On the empty fridge. On the way her life was folding in on itself.

The hall broke into applause when they stopped. They parted but not before Chris stole a small peck from Alicia's lips. He invited the guests over the floor before leaving with his wife. Angela flashed them a big grin as they approached her. "Here comes my romeo and juliet," Angela teased the two. Chris shared her joy whereas Alicia waved her off, blushing. "Romeo and Juliet got nothing on us, right darling?" Chris pecked Alicia's cheek. Nikaulas rolled his eyes.

It was stupid but we’d been rolling the dies for hours and each of us had accrued some debt. Normally, it would make more sense if we had to pay the person who made the sixes but Thea had made up the rules and thought it’d be more fun. Charlie on the other hand had forgotten the rules of the game because she was so f*cking wasted. “Oh My God. My tummy hurts.” My temples were wet with tears. Everything felt right again. “Since I’m the only one who isn’t drunk right now, I’ll calculate our debts.” I picked up the board where I’d recorded everything.
