Maybe it would pass for a bite if the guard didn’t look closely. In a way, she was glad that she hadn’t succeeded in biting me. Turning was a last resort and something she dreaded. She’d put it off as long as possible. There were times when she wished for death, but the knowing of what would happen to her body once she died traumatized her to the point of denying death as well. She was tortured daily. She wished for a way to die peacefully and to have her body placed in the ground while her loved ones said their good-byes. It would be much better to die than to become the undead; especially one of Wadim’s undead. They were an outcast with their own kind; a cross between vampire and cannibal.

I cried, kneeling beside her. “I can’t,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “I can’t move…” My heart raced as I tried to help her up, but her body was too weak. She couldn’t stand, couldn’t walk. I cursed under my breath, my mind spinning with panic. I had to get her out of here, but there was no time. The sound of hissing filled the air, and I looked up just in time to see one of the skin walkers slithering toward us. Its eyes glowed in the darkness, and its tongue flicked out, like a snake tasting the air.

Third POV Two days later.... Felicity stepped out with slow steps there. Her face looked very pale and she was sweating almost all over her body now. Felicity walked alone through a very dark and lonely forest area. Even though she was a werewolf, walking alone in the forest, without the warrior or Harrison, still felt quite terrifying to her. But Felicity had to keep walking, to be able to stop the curiosity and worry she was feeling right now.

My dreams that night were sweat-filled nightmares filled with wolves and the bastard vampire that attacked me. He repeatedly shoved me against the wall and taunted me. He laughed more the more I bled. The wolves circled, growled, and attacked at random. Derek loomed over me, earnestly telling me things that screamed at me. I had died. I used to be a werewolf. I used to be a vampire. I'd never be able to return. All of my friends and family are no longer with me. Throughout it all, I was engulfed in a vortex of agony that enveloped me.

She ducked her head as a group of newborn vampires walked past her. She made herself small and insignificant, not making a sound to draw any attention.
