The Warded Man Movie Novels & Stories

Every step he and Vex took sent vibrations through the concrete, cracks spiderwebbing through the streets, altering the battleground beneath their feet. Riven’s chest tightened. He could feel the city responding—not to him entirely, but to the chaos. If he made one wrong move, thousands of lives would be lost. And Vex knew it. THE WARDEN INTERVENES Then it happened. A shadow darker than night poured into the streets from the alleys, curling around them like smoke. The Warden emerged fully—its form towering, yet fluid, shifting with the city’s pulse. Caretaker. Stop this now.

"I simply ask that you consider this information seriously, rather than dismissing it entirely based on understandable but perhaps premature judgment regarding my own trustworthiness." Before our tense exchange could continue further, a commotion erupted suddenly among the Warden's assembled forces, shouts, and the clash of steel echoing unexpectedly from somewhere near the formation's rear flank. The Warden's expression shifted instantly from careful diplomatic composure to sharp alarm, her hand moving instinctively toward a weapon hidden within her robes.

He holds it in his palm, his eyes wide with triumph and awe. The cost is immediate. We now have a divine weapon sitting on our mantlepiece. It looks like a snow globe from a nightmare. One dropped slip, one moment of lost focus from its creator, and it could unmake our home. Our peace is now guarded by a potential apocalypse of our own making. The door chime rings. It’s a sound we haven’t heard in an age. Arthur and I exchange a single, horrified glance. We know who it is. The Warden stands on our doorstep. Their suit is still grey, but it seems less certain of itself. The painful empathy in their eyes is now mixed with something else. A raw, intellectual hunger.

"Some already tried to drive us off. Funny it was actually shifters trying to drive off the human population and the rest of us put a stop to it. As you can see, we're still here. The coyotes couldn't drive us out then, and neither will you now." The man turned back to his drink, lifted it to his lips, and downed the last remnants with one swallow. He set the glass back on the bar, straightened his jacket, and then turned to face Wes, his gaze cold and cunning. "I assure you, we are not a pack of mangy coyotes. The Order of Wardens will not fail. If I were you, I'd take my offer while it's available. Otherwise, you'll lose this place and have nothing to show for it. That would be a shame, si

“More real than most people know. They’ve lived in these mountains for centuries. They keep to themselves… but they protect this land fiercely.” Outside, the tension was rising. Vane’s men were shifting nervously, glancing between their employer and the strange figures blocking their way. “I will not be ordered about by strangers in hoods,” Vane said, his voice hard. “Take them down.” Two of his men drew their weapons and moved forward but before they could take three steps, the lead Warden raised their staff. A soft, thrumming sound filled the air, and a faint, silvery light seemed to ripple out from the carved wood. The ground beneath the men’s feet suddenly seemed to shift roots burst upw

Everything he’d imagined about this place was spot on, including the ever-present sense of foreboding that had seized up his gut on their first patrol and had never let go. As they made their way down the narrow road, with all senses peaked to maximum alert, Tim continually hoped for just another routine run, but remained ready should the worst happen. It wasn’t until their group reached the other side of the small village that he allowed himself a full breath. The convoy of five armored vehicles turned left to continue its circuit before returning to base. *** Her mom and dad met and visited with Jodie while Sarah finished making dinner with her brand-new cookware. “It’s ready,” she announc

A familiar voice drifted from behind the decorative rocks, and Radman strolled into view, all easy smiles. "Sorry for not rolling out the red carpet." "So, you're Radman?" Colt eyed the man with the beaming smile, sensing there was more to him than met the eye. He also realized, with a silent nod to himself, why Radman's friendly face had so easily swayed Zyra. "Yep, that's me, and you are?" "Colt." "Oh, Colt Wafford from the Wafford family?" Radman's eyes flickered with a shadow of something dark. He had not expected Zyra to be mixed up with a Wafford.

Then the heavy steel door at the end of the catwalk groaned open. The sound of a key turning in the lock cut through everything like a gunshot. “Freeze.” My body locked mid-thrust. I didn’t pull out. I stayed buried balls-deep inside Leo, both of us trembling as polished leather boots thudded closer. Slow. Deliberate. Not some panicked guard. This was someone who owned every inch of this hellhole. Warden Thorne stepped into the dim amber glow of the emergency lights. His dark navy uniform was starched razor-sharp, silver hair catching the light, those ice-blue eyes sweeping over us like we were already his. He didn’t look disgusted. He looked starving.
