We damn sure didn't need a party bus. I had let Jake run hard for about an hour. We were both calm enough to deal with Gary, and it was starting to get dark. I assumed the van would have been dropped off by now. I knew I had to get back to Hard Dick's. Gary was indeed fuming but who gives a sideways fuck. We were loading the witches up in the van. When all helll broke loose, I knew it was Harris and his warriors. I didn't know how they knew what we were doing. The rouges came from out of nowhere, and the two packs began to attack each other.

The physical evidence only led to the center of the field and then nothing, as if the kidnappers and Alexi had just disappeared without a trace. Coming up the road were many more vehicles; two vehicles carried the Packs Witches and the other the King's Witches. The Pack Witches felt offended that the King's Witches were called upon. The King's Witches felt they were far more Superior and magically capable than the Pack Witches. The two sets of witches did not work well together at all. However, both sets of witches agreed that there was lots of magic residue everywhere.

Ilyra explained, her voice gentle but firm as she held the old woman’s hand. "The Nexus? You're both fools if you think you can just walk into the center of the marsh and take what you want, because the path is guarded by the Drowned Witches now," Hestia said, and she looked up at me with a grim, knowing smile that chilled me to the marrow. "They are the spirits of the women your pack threw into the black pools during the raids, and they’ve spent the last twenty years waiting for a Rauvenhollow wolf to come back so they can pull him down into the silt and keep him there forever."

The screaming starts. We do not find out much. The witches that are attacking are not part of a particular coven. They are almost like rogues traveling alone or in small groups. Someone just shows up and gives them their assignment. Hester did not know who this person was nor did she see their face. The woman just shows up gives them information on where to go and what spell to use.

Cordelia tells me. I pause the car in the middle of the road and look back at Cordelia. “A left where,” I ask. There is nothing but dense forest beside the road. “Trust me,” Cordelia responds. “It is there.” The other three witches in the car nod their heads. Sucking in my breath, I turn off the road and prepare to hit the trees, but the vehicle moves through the trees like mist. The forest around us disappears, and there is a tower standing in the middle of the forest.

One of the witches looked nothing older than nineteen or twenty, while the other was older, looking like she was in her forties. "Maiden, mother, and crone," River whispered to herself as she remembered an old story she'd read as a child. This trio's arrangement wasn't ordinary. It had a symbolic meaning. After they paused in front of the intimidating rogue wolves and the three witches, the older one spoke with a snarl. "Alpha River. So, the rumors are true? You're a part witch part werewolf hybrid." Her pointed nose scrunched up as a scowl appeared on her face.

A group of witches had surrounded us, their eyes filled with anger and suspicion. "What are you doing here?" one of them demanded. "We're here to see the witches," the Jax replied, his voice calm and steady. The witches studied us for a moment, then nodded. "It's young Jax," one of them said. "Follow us." The one who lead them said. These withces looks similarly like humans and I cannot barely distinguish the difference between their looks. We followed the witches through a winding path that led to a hidden village, surrounded by mountains and mist. The village was filled with strange and exotic creatures, all of them watching us with suspicion and curiosity.

He says, and I curse. I quickly make my way toward the northwest border, pushing Ryker to run faster as I start smelling blood, Rogues, witches, and dark fairies. By the time I make it to the fight, it's almost over. I look around and see the witches from the coven have cast protection spells over my worriers as they fight hard to protect their charges. There are dead bodies everywhere. Unfortunately, a few of them are my worriers.

I want this pack to disappear from the ground before this day ends. All witches cheered at those words, bloodthirst evident in their eyes. - Nice speech. - Martha smirked, looking at her friend. - Everyone needs some motivation. - Megan replied, turning around. Other witches followed her example, and soon the camp was empty. Katherine was lying in bed, holding her head on Greg's chest. She wished to stay like this forever. But the moment could not last long. - Alpha! - One of the warriors mind-linked her. - There is a movement on the west from the pack. Our spies confirmed that more than a hundred witches are coming this way. They will reach the pack in about three hours.

There was a chant of victory from one of the witches which was sounded through the town. The witches launched a hot pursuit of the werewolves as the plan was to destroy them completely and take over the kingdom. However, as they chased the werewolves, they were oblivious to their back. Connor had devised a war tactic of dealing with the witches by dividing the army into two. One of them was to observe the turn of the war. Since the whole army of the witches was focused on chasing a sector of their army, they seized them from behind. Connor was at the forefront.
