My jaw clenches so hard it hurts. "This bastard." I continue reading, my rage mounting with each oppressive statute. The further I go, the worse it gets. Some laws practically treat women like livestock. Others treat them as property to be used and discarded at will. One particularly vile passage suggests that a woman's worth is measured only by her ability to produce healthy male offspring, comparing a barren wife to barren soil—useless and deserving of abandonment. I slam the book shut. The sound echoes through the office like a gunshot. "No wonder this pack is a mess."

She said she wrote the book to help other women avoid manipulative men like me. I watched one interview against my better judgment. The host asked Karen what she wanted readers to take away from her story. She said "I want women to know that powerful men will use you and discard you. That promises mean nothing when it's inconvenient. That I'm not the villain in this story. I'm a survivor."

His wife and kids were abroad so he lived alone, while she came for housecleaning she ceased the opportunity to go through his books, at first they were too hard for her to comprehend but considering she had been a science student at her secondary school, she quickly grasped it and everyday after cleaning she sat down and read the chemistry and biology text books One Saturday, he had called for her duties and when she hurried over, it had been to clean his lab which was always locked, she was fascinated by the place, it was the feeling one had after watching a movie, then seeing an actor from it live. The man had an astounding collection of books from Thrillers to books on the economy. He was well versed, and as she turned another page Maria pictured Mr Bordeaux pushing past each page in a methodical way, never skipping to the end to see what happens. So, she is reading the book in front of me. Interesting!!! I passed the oil lamp to her silently and trying hard to control my shocking and humorous emotions from her. "So, Prince This book is about... umm" She inhaled a short breath and said slowly. "Controlling women" I was so amazed by her sense of maturity and somehow I wanted to know what she knew about the book.

"I suppose no place in London is truly safe, which is why no woman should walk the streets alone, especially in the evening." Her gaze grew distant for a moment. "It is a mistake I will not make again." Then she looked down at her book. "Next question, my lord." Well, he'd tried. Perhaps a more circuitous route was required to win her trust. "What book are you reading?" He nodded at the tome she'd set aside. "Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations." "Truly?" He blinked at her. Most men he knew couldn't finish that book, and he'd never given much thought to whether a woman would read it. Not that he didn't think a woman could manage it, just that it was so bloody boring

– She talked and talked and I was fascinated by how she managed to be so convinced of her studies, she understood that they were interpretations and hers could be one of the most sensible and beautiful ones. it's so impressive that I tell you here and now that this book doesn't preach that men and women have sex just to procreate, does it sound realistic? For many doubt that a religion speaks so loudly and so clearly that it was never a sin to feel pleasure being a man or a woman. She smirked when she saw me impressed.

FELICIA I wanted to get to Beta Andrew. But when I got to the banquet again, all the Betas and alphas were gathered in the corner. A bunch of rogues were standing above them.
