My stomach has started swirling with an emotion I'm not ready to acknowledge yet. The worry in his eyes is evident. "She has no idea who or what she is, but its Tegwen, Cain." I feel like I've been kicked in the stomach, my breath stolen from me as his words register. "The Rogue with the humans, is Tegwen."

I managed to relax, never taking my eyes off Miatta. “Logan! Start talking. I am not in the mood for this sort of nonsense!” Father barked, barely sparing the slaves a second glance. Logan stepped forward, bowed again and stood before his Alpha. His dark hair was his greatest pride and he tied it back away from his face, allowing the locks to fall at his back. A jagged scar above his eyes was revealed as a result, marring his roguish handsome face.

I explained. "I'd like to see him try. I'm an Alpha now," Logan replied. "And so is he," I said, almost in a laugh. "What's his name?" Logan asked, narrowing his eyes. "Alpha Leonardo Loren," I told him. "Heard of him?" I asked casually. The corner of his mouth twitched up a little and his eyes flickered before he masked his expression with his usual arrogance.

I wrinkled my nose at their answers. "So, what're your thoughts? Darien…" June pointed to the creep himself as he laughed with some guys from the cabin he’s in charge of. " Marcus…" she smirked, pointing to Marcus, who was tuning a guitar. "Or the ever-mysterious Mister Logan,” she sighed, pointing to Logan. I'm sure if this was a cartoon, my jaw would have comically hit the ground. Logan had taken off his shirt while he swung an ax, chopping firewood. Thick dark brown hairs covered Logan’s chest just as I had glimpsed this morning.

He seethed, instantly cutting her off. Wow... Noticing the anger in his voice, she backed off and returned in her seat, letting it go. But now someone else took her place, a guy, to be more specific, looking about the same age as Logan’s and same height, only he was thinner than Logan. “But why don’t you tell us already who they are!” He demanded with his arms crossed, taking a step towards us. Logan’s body suddenly tensed at the guy’s sudden movement and moved closer to me, gripping my arm a little firmer but not enough to hurt me and slowly dragged me behind him, seemingly somehow trying to shield me from the guy.

It sometimes feels like he is just far too good to be true. Logan sensed something was wrong with T, but he didn't bother him. Instead, he did what Logan did best, made T laugh by joking around with him. How is it possible for him to always be able to make people smile? I guess it's one of the many super-talents he was blessed with.

I turned the corner and almost bumped into Theodore. He was fastening his coat, clearly on his way out. “Good morning, Freya,” he greeted with a polite nod. “Morning,” I said softly. “Is Alpha Logan… around?” Theodore shook his head. “He left early. Went to a council meeting in Red Moon Territory. Just a few hours' ride.” “Oh.” I swallowed the unexpected tightness in my throat. “Alright. Thank you.” He gave me a look — almost sympathetic — before walking off.

The only thing that Elder Banks could be thankful for at the moment was that Logan didn’t embed his entire claws in his stomach, he only dug the tip of his claws or else his long, sharpened claws would have torn a life-threatening hole in the stomach of Elder Banks. Elder Banks screamed in pain having his stomach pierced, he felt the burn of the skin tearing spread all over his body as he shook his head. “ Alpha, please…please forgive me.” Levy rolled her eyes, the man didn’t even flinch when the wizards from the association came because he knew that Logan would save him but what he never thought about was, who was going to save him from Logan. Dr Greg scoffed. "My house is secured with artificial intelligent security systems. That might be the end of you if you get close. I protected my family from people like you. So good luck trying to get to..." Trevor clenched his hands into fists and didn't wait for him to finish his statements. He punched his nose, and Doctor Greg passed out immediately.

(Logan’s POV) The cold air of the Titan practice rink was supposed to be a reset button. Out here, under the harsh white lights, I was Logan Cross, the million-dollar asset, the injured star focused on his recovery. I was not the terrified prisoner who had shattered a glass tumbler with a thoughtless grip, nor the complicated mess who spent his nights burning off rage with the man he was supposed to hate.
