Cassidy greeted, hugging Riko back. “Collin’s brain?” Justin laughed as he and Ben joined us. “Burn,” I gave him a high five. “Hilarious guys,” Collin rolled his eyes. “That would imply he ever had one,” Cassidy scoffed. “I love you too, babe,” Collin feigned offense. “Anyway,” Cassidy rolled her eyes. “We had an announcement to make,” Cassidy’s expression went serious. “What’s going on?” Riko frowned. “Well, I’m sorry to tell you that the end of the world is coming. The antichrist will be born in June,” Cassidy sighed with a completely straight face.

“After multiple catastrophes all over the globe this morning, government officials are looking into possible terrorist activity. Conspiracy theorist are saying world war is eminent. Religious groups are speaking of end of days…” Ally had passed out hard and must have slept away the afternoon. She awoke to the soft glow of the television. As soon as she stirred Drake turn it off, she was convinced he didn’t want her to hear it. He flipped on the reading lamp, rolled over and moved the hair from her face.

Alistair says. “Yes,” Eternal confirms. “Enough to start the merger into the Primordial. Once they begin combining, nothing can stop it. The apocalypse isn’t coming anymore.” She pauses and the silence is deafening. “It’s already here.” The children are screaming louder and their light is spreading, reality fracturing around them as their seals prepare to shatter completely. Somewhere in the distance I hear something that sounds like seven voices speaking in unison, calling to each other across the world. The entities recognizing their siblings.

Sam sounds more excited, and I’m suddenly cold, frozen with this unexpected news. My throat goes dry. Jeremy Kruger is the last person I'd want to hear for the rest of my life. [Juliet's POV] I jolted awake and gasped heavily for air. I took in the familiar-looking ceiling and bedsheets. I was in the rented apartment I had lived in for three years before the apocalypse. I felt the sun shine on the back of my hand, its warmth feeling so surreal. I picked up my phone resting by my pillow, and the screen lit up. It was July 15th, 2058—seven whole days before the apocalypse happened. I stared blankly into space for five whole minutes before my mind slowly drifted back to reality. I had truly been given a second chance at life.

The yard was a minefield of trenches, and the living room was packed to the ceiling with crates of cup noodles and survival crackers I'd hoarded online. There wasn't even room to walk. He stood before an expensive rug pinned beneath boxes of survival crackers, his expression darkening. "Phoebe, what is all this?" I rushed over, dragged him into the bedroom, and locked the door behind us with an air of absolute secrecy. "Honey, I need to tell you something huge. The apocalypse is coming." Gabriel stared at me, his eyes full of complex emotions. He reached out and felt my forehead, but I had no fever.

"The temple also gave you a magic customer service voice. Maybe it has bugs." [Temple records do not have bugs.] I looked up. "You heard that?" The first argument in the new temple was about where people could pee. That was the moment the apocalypse became real to me. Not the dead. Not the system. Not my impossible brother's name burning on a divine tablet. It was Aunt Lan standing in the kitchen with a flashlight under her chin, declaring that if people wanted to survive in a holy place, they could start by not turning the courtyard into a sewer.
