’ I call out through the mindlink. ‘Yes, Alpha!’ I hear 70 voices respond through the link instantly. I shift to my wolf, and Lucas and Tobias do the same. My big black wolf is almost the size of a bear. Alpha wolves are always bigger. Tobias being my Beta, his tan wolf is not much smaller than mine. Lucas’ white and brown wolf is the third largest in the pack. We follow the tracks that belong to Justin’s wolf. All of a sudden, his tracks are not the only ones we see.

Those were their trophies. “Hunters,” I whispered to myself. “Rasia….” My father’s voice cracked through the noise. He was the Alpha of our small pack. He was strong and looked unbreakable. U turned towards him…running. But I never reached him. A blast goes off. The shockwave threw me into the dirt as pain exploded through my shoulder. I immediately tasted blood. When I looked up, the elder’s hall was burning. Wolves I trained with, fighters, are dropping like flies as silver bullets pierce through them.

I imagined them standing in a tight circle with their jaws clenched and their eyes down, afraid to say anything. “Swear it,” the Alpha growled and there was silence. “I said…swear it.” Then the room echoed with low voices which sounded forced. They answered one by one, filling the room with their responses. “I swear,” some said. “I swear,” another voice said. “I swear my loyalty to the pack and this secret.” “I swear…” It came in over and over and Alpha Brock cleared his throat. “Break your vow,” Brock said, “and you will join the wolves buried in the east border. You will be just another name scratched off a stone no one visits.”

Why he would want to attack the humans and let Phaedra take the fall for it? Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Money. All of this has to do with money. Wolves were wealthy beyond belief. Which would tilt the stock markets and world money structures in our favor.

Hopefully, it will give you some insight with Marianne.” We ran into a handful of wolves from Joe’s pack close to Joe’s house. They smiled warmly at the two of us, and we stopped for a brief chat. They were respectful to both of us, enquiring after our health and how our mates were faring. ALPHA RYAN POV The alert sounded throughout the pack link again; every wolf born and pledged to the pack would have been awoken to the growing urgency of the alert. Trinity Falls Pack was under another attack. The rogues were relentless, and I couldn’t figure out their attack pattern. They had already struck the north wall twice and were now striking at the western border. “Alpha, we are under siege.” One of my head warriors reached out. I rushed into the packhouse. I needed to ensure that Britt was in the bunkers, yet it looked like she had taken another sleeping pill. She was still sound asleep in our bed.
