Only one side of the wall in the Throne room was painted and I looked to the throne area and sighed in relief when I saw they were untouched and unpainted. The workers and Shrilly had all noticed my presence and halted their movements but I still yelled anyway. “Stop! I said and my voice filled the room. I raised my hand up and used my index finger to call Shrilly over while a tight frown claimed my face. “Come here.” I said and Shrilly wasted no time in coming over even though he was trembling as he came. Just then, I heard a loud thud behind me and I turned to see Andrea and Daniel rushing inside the room, panting. I would deal with Daniel later for leaving Shrilly alone again.

“I don’t see a cup dispenser anywhere around here.” “There is a water cooler back at the control panel, I saw it. It has disposable paper cups.” “I’ll keep that in mind,” Cara said. “Now find the door to the tunnel,” Bohdan said. For the next hour Bohdan and Cara searched for the entrance to the tunnel in vain. The room was an endless expanse of stored junk with no doors anywhere. Then they found something. Back behind several rolls of wire fencing was a single door with the word “No exit” painted in red. Cara pushed the rolls apart and made her way to the door and looked for a handle to open it. What she found was a place where the handle use to be and a slot for a key.

She was mine, and I’d be damned if some centuries old prophecy was gonna try and turn her into some bargaining chip. “You had a throne room this whole time?” Ana’s voice broke through the silent tension. All of my attention flowed to her. Her eyes scanned every corner of the room. “It is a castle, love.” I gently took her hand and guided her to the oversized throne that sat at the rooms center. Huge cathedral windows covered the wall behind it, the nearly full moon casted a beautiful glow, outlining it. Guards sat on opposite sides of the doors. “This is our throne room.” I corrected her, holding both of her hands in mind.

"I said… shoulders back." I heard him the second time and straightened my spine immediately, lifting my chin despite the mud streaked across it. We reached the massive double doors of the Throne Room. Two guards pushed them open with a heavy, grinding groan that sounded like the earth itself splitting apart. "Majestic" didn't begin to describe it. The Lycan throne room was a massive hall of black marble, with silver veins. Above us, floating orbs of cold, white fire cast long shadows, stripping the room of any warmth.

Alisha started with a straight face as she stared at them. The throne room is a large, grandiose space with high ceilings and ornate decorations. There are heavy red velvet curtains draped over the windows, and the floors are covered in plush carpets. The walls are adorned with gold-framed paintings and tapestries, and large chandeliers are hanging from the ceiling. In the center of the room is a massive throne made of dark wood, with intricate carvings and gilded accents. The room is filled with the scent of incense and the sound of a harp playing softly in the background.

He nodded once, even though every inch of him looked like it hated this. Then to Lucan, who simply muttered, “Of course there’s a secret blood vault.” I followed my father down the steps. It was cold. Too cold for a place so deep underground. The walls pulsed faintly with energy, and the runes glowed under my fingertips when I brushed them. When we reached the chamber at the bottom, I gasped. A throne sat at the center. Made of bone. Moonstone. Obsidian. Above it, a carving: “To the Luna who ends the cycle.”

Chapter 18: The Roots Beneath Raven paced the hidden chamber beneath the eastern wing of the palace once her mother’s sanctum, now her war room. Ancient maps littered the stone table, flickering under the dim blue light of enchanted lanterns. Each mark, each symbol, was a thread in the tangled web she was slowly unraveling.
