I could feel the anger boiling within her, which only made me smile knowing that she was getting what she deserved. I turned to Thorian and asked, "Where are we going?" My stomach rumbled slightly, reminding me of my hunger. He smirked and replied, "To eat, what else?" Suddenly, we stopped at a door. Thorian pushed it open slightly, revealing a mesmerizing sight. The room was filled with bean bags, a play station, a pool table, a dart board, and many other games and a TV. I couldn't help but open my mouth slightly in astonishment. "What is this place?" I asked, trying to take it all in. Thorian chuckled and replied, "This, Ashley, is a place reserved for the six precious gems, mainly for me.

She was mine, and I’d be damned if some centuries old prophecy was gonna try and turn her into some bargaining chip. “You had a throne room this whole time?” Ana’s voice broke through the silent tension. All of my attention flowed to her. Her eyes scanned every corner of the room. “It is a castle, love.” I gently took her hand and guided her to the oversized throne that sat at the rooms center. Huge cathedral windows covered the wall behind it, the nearly full moon casted a beautiful glow, outlining it. Guards sat on opposite sides of the doors. “This is our throne room.” I corrected her, holding both of her hands in mind.

"I said… shoulders back." I heard him the second time and straightened my spine immediately, lifting my chin despite the mud streaked across it. We reached the massive double doors of the Throne Room. Two guards pushed them open with a heavy, grinding groan that sounded like the earth itself splitting apart. "Majestic" didn't begin to describe it. The Lycan throne room was a massive hall of black marble, with silver veins. Above us, floating orbs of cold, white fire cast long shadows, stripping the room of any warmth.

He nodded once, even though every inch of him looked like it hated this. Then to Lucan, who simply muttered, “Of course there’s a secret blood vault.” I followed my father down the steps. It was cold. Too cold for a place so deep underground. The walls pulsed faintly with energy, and the runes glowed under my fingertips when I brushed them. When we reached the chamber at the bottom, I gasped. A throne sat at the center. Made of bone. Moonstone. Obsidian. Above it, a carving: “To the Luna who ends the cycle.”

Chapter 18: The Roots Beneath Raven paced the hidden chamber beneath the eastern wing of the palace once her mother’s sanctum, now her war room. Ancient maps littered the stone table, flickering under the dim blue light of enchanted lanterns. Each mark, each symbol, was a thread in the tangled web she was slowly unraveling. Every registered vampire received a talisman from the council which enabled them to walk in sunlight without burning. Every council had a special witch to create talismans for the vampires they oversaw. I was different, I knew it. I never knew my mother. I was found in Lycan Woods by Tiberius who was hunting. Lycans and Vampires maintained a treaty, so far neither disrupted the peace

Raelthorn rose from the mountains like something grown rather than built, black stone veined with silver runes, ancient towers carved directly into rock. It wasn’t just a residence. It was a stronghold. A throne wrapped in stone and teeth. I stood at the window when the door behind me opened without a sound. “You’re awake.” Thane’s voice slid down my spine like heat. I didn’t turn. “That implies I slept.” A ghost of warmth brushed the bond, something like amusement. “You were supposed to.”
