Through My Window Book Novels & Stories

Right behind me is the window and I have no idea of what to do, as am about to reach the window the way the book approach me. The more the book moves the more I moved towards the window. As I was at the top of the window, I book moved with more speed to hit me. MUMMY!!!, I shouted mummy and the fell. Closed my eyes while falling and shouting the word mummy. I was expecting myself to fall on the floor but suddenly, someone beat my head with a hard object and opening my eyes. I found it to be Mr Gibbs. WHAT!!!, I bursted into tears. Why why why and whaaaayyyyy???

I took my gaze back to the book and my fingers on a line. “Vanashda Si...” The windows in the room began to flap, and a hush of wind came in. The lights in the room dimmed and blacked out. I was startled and dropped my legs to the ground. What’s going on? I left the couch to the window and forcefully closed it and exhaled. Was it because of what I said that it happened? I turned and saw a glimpse of someone sitting on the couch with the book which I was reading. “Look inside of you, you’re so much more than you can be.”

"The window is more fitting for you." His eyes narrowed, but he didn’t argue. Without another word, he jumped out of the window, landing gracefully before vanishing into the woods. I closed the window immediately, locking it tight. The room fell silent again, and I crawled into bed. As soon as my eyes shut, the darkness swallowed me, and I found myself somewhere else entirely. --- I was home. The familiar sight of my family sitting outside, enjoying the cool evening air, warmed me for a moment. But then, the moon turned a deep, bloody red, and everything shifted. Flames erupted around us, consuming everything in their path. The world burned.

I spent the rest of the day in my room, and by night the packhouse was silent around me. I stood by the window, the same window Julius once found words burned across. Now the glass was clean. At least it looked that way. Outside, the world breathed slow. Inside, my reflection watched me too closely. I leaned nearer. It leaned back, but a beat late. “Stop,” I whispered. It smiled. In my own voice it said, He’s not the only one watching. A hairline crack split the glass from top to bottom, thin as lightning. I stumbled back, pressing my hand to the mark that had begun to pulse again.

Athen POV. I dashed towards the open window, feeling a chill run through my veins as the cold breeze rushed in and caused the pages of the forbidden tome to flutter restlessly. The room was dimly lit, but the pale light of the moon seemed to shimmer with a strange allure as I picked up the book with trembling hands. The Forbidden Knowledge. For weeks I had been yearning to unlock its secrets, to delve deep into its pages and uncover the truths that lay hidden within.

I use my free hand to try and open it, but the locks are hot and almost melted, and they burn the tips of my fingers at the first touch. I try to use my shoulder to break down the window, but it's of no use. There's only one thing to do. I have to launch myself through the window, but everything and everywhere is so hot. I can't even see to breathe. My cough increases, and my lungs feel like they've had enough. I know I only have a few minutes before I finally lose consciousness. A voice in the back of my head whispered again. ‘Open the door.’ But this time, I didn’t cry. I sighed; this was going to be my second bathroom window I was escaping from in less than twenty four hours. This window was super tiny and I was hoping I could make myself small enough to squeeze through. I grabbed a paperweight from the desk and ran in, standing on the back of the toilet and smashing the glass with the apple figurine. I cleared out the glass as best as I could and then hefted myself up, bellying over the edge and poking my head out.
