At this point, her sobs had become annoying, and she was just looking for attention.
Ruby lifts her head, her red lipstick smeared across her cheek and the charcoal eyeliner was smudged under her eyes. “Why though, that’s what I don’t get. Why? We were going to be mated.” She sobs again, and more tears stream down her face.
“I don’t know Ruby,” I say thinking about the bloodied body with claw marks that ripped open the stomach and his chest that had been caved in and the heart removed.
I shudder at the image that is ingrained into my brain.
