Crawling albeit painfully, the thorns and sticks from the ground digging into her flesh her backpack on her back too, Ruby kept moving. She lost count of the seconds or minutes that passed as she kept moving, but still she didn't give up one bit, until finally...

Chapter 1: "Save Me," ───── ❝ T H I R D P E R S O N ' S P O V ❞ ───── "Fuck off, you bastards!" With her crimson hands grappling on the steering wheel, Ruby silently cursed while glancing at her rear view mirror. Her bloodshot orbs was now wide opened, tears dangerously dangling within its edges. Her once enchanting face had bruised all over, and her whole body were tremendously shaking.

“Yes, please!” Ruby glanced at me, looking partly guilty, partly ashamed, partly defiant, and went to a small jar she kept next to her dinged-up TV. She pulled out a handful of marbles and then disappeared into the bathroom. Judging by the flush of the toilet, she was sending the marbles into the sewer system. The sewer spirit, Vayna, sang out in joy and dove back down the kitchen sink. There was a moment of silence and waiting before Ruby came back to the room. She folded her arms tightly over her chest and lifted her chin.

, Fleki whispers, “No, I can hear her heart beating.” Rubbing my eyes as they opened, briefly blinded by the late afternoon sun beaming through the forest canopy above where I lay. I squinted, and when my eyes finally focussed, I realised a pair of eyes glistening with gold, and long black lashes that curled upwards, so intensity that made me gasp, were staring right back at me. “Please don't hurt me “. Frantically I started searching the ground for something to protect myself with. Then, realising my search was futile, I abruptly sat up, trying to muster as much dignity as I could.
