“You have to make dinosaur toast. I won’t eat otherwise.” I stared at Zane, then at him. “You think I’m under contract with Jurassic Park?” Ash started the whining again. “DINO BREAD!” Zane only smiled. “I wanna see you say no.” I sighed and reached for the knife. With a precision that might have earned applause from Gordon Ramsay, I hacked the toast into a budget T-Rex. Not perfect, but good enough for a three-year-old brain. I set the dinosaur toast on Ash’s plate. “Congratulations. You now own a gluten-free T-Rex.”

Shortly after, the ground began quivering as a massive roar rang through the area! Following that, a humongous dragon materialized out of thin air and began charging toward Ryder! “Thunder Strike!” yelled Ryder as launched his own attack, hoping to fend off the incoming dragon! The second the two attacks collided, a near-deafening explosion filled the area! Not only did the immensely powerful collision cause the dragon to quickly dematerialize, but even Ryder found himself coughing mouthfuls of blood as he was flung backward…!

Elysian clutched her head in pain, Taylor immediately rushed to the kitchen to get an ice pack for her and a first aid kit for Adrian. Daisy held her head, she caressed it gently trying to ease the pain away while blowing softly. Lorcan came back to his sense, his heart squeezing in pain, he almost hurt his mate.. again. He nervously looked at Elysian who still hissing and wincing in pain as he shut his eyes tightly. His knuckles turned white from clutching his head too tight. Elysian walked slowly towards her, he extended his hand out to reach for Elysian.

It takes her a moment, then Skylar begins whooping in excitement. “YES! I AM A DRAGON RIDER. HERE ME ROAR!” she screams. As one, Bynjym and Cyryl answer her call, roaring into the air as Bynjym levels out. I see flames coming from Cyryl’s mouth, but Bynjym keeps her low enough that they don’t hit us. We fly over the thunder, and both dragons roar again. The answering call of the thunder makes the mountain where we’re living shake underneath them.

ALISA’S POV The next morning felt like a war zone wrapped in silk sheets. I woke to the low hum of voices outside the bedroom door—Blackwood’s clipped commands, Kael’s steady replies, and the sharp, unfamiliar crackle of emergency medical scanners being wheeled down the hall. My arm throbbed where the claws had raked me, but the real pain lived deeper: the echo of Viktor’s threats, the raw fear in my mother’s eyes when I’d chosen Kael over her, the way Jeff had curled into a ball like a beaten dog.

I feel excited because I feel something moving in my chest, like a child interested in simple and pointless things. Claire didn't say anything. She just smiled at me. In the distance, there was a loud crack of thunder, and a bright flash of lightning lit up the dark, gloomy sky. Claire let go of her phone and covered her ears with both hands while closing her eyes at the same time. Before I left her, I ensured she was as comfortable as possible. Even though the thunder and lightning seemed far from where we were, it rained heavily and never stopped. I quickly got the car through the gate and into the garage of our house.

“Just… run!” Eldrian seemed to have discovered something. He continued to yell at Dillon, warning him to flee. Unfortunately, it was too late for them to leave. A thick layer of thunder clouds suddenly gathered and hovered above the Sword Cliff. The terrifying thunder blasted down from the void. The entire Sword Cliff was engulfed by thunder and lightning. “Arghhh!” Eldrian’s incredibly shrill and miserable screams erupted from the cliff. The next second everyone knew, Eldrian’s body was detached from the cliff. His body was circulated by sharp swords, while a large crowd of swords trailed behind him as they shot all the way in the direction of Dillon and Tyr.

Terban saw a dinosaur. The predator slumped over him, he kicked it away but it was too heavy. To get away, Terban but the leg of the dinosaur. “Ahhhh!” the dinosaur growled in pain. The window of Terban’s eyes flung open. He was wet with sweat as he looked around him. It took him seconds to figure out that everything about the green dinosaur was only a part of his dream. But just like in his dream, he could taste salty flesh in his mouth.

It looked helpless against the gray sky. Jenny walked over. The heels of her shoes made a “clicking” sound against the stone slabs, with each step slower than the previous one. She crouched down, and her knees touched the stone slabs, producing a muffled sound. Her fingers touched the rubber “belly” of the dinosaur. Gray powder rubbed against her fingertips, mixing with the blood that had dried in the scratches, forming a dark pink paste. She picked up the dinosaur. The rubber made a “squeak” sound against the palm of her hand. She wiped the dust off its belly with her thumb, but the dust didn’t completely come off, leaving a grayish film on the pink rubber surface.
