Lily is practically vibrating with glee. Nikolai lifts her up with one hand like and sets her on a stool at the counter. “Alright, princess. You get first pick. The sky’s the limit.” Lily’s eyes go comically wide at the thirty-one flavors glowing under the glass. “They have unicorn sparkle?!” The girl behind the counter grins. “Cotton-candy ice cream with edible glitter and gummy stars.” “I want that one!” Lily bounces. Nikolai just smiles. “We'll have that with two vanillas.”

Lily coughed, with her eyes wide as she tried to open the oven door without getting her face hit by the hot air. "Under control? It smells like you're cremating something in there. You didn't tell me anything about baking!" I couldn't help but clamp a hand over my mouth to stop myself from laughing. Lily glared at me. "What were you even making again?" I asked, stepping closer. "Cookies," she muttered, waving more smoke away. Her mum grabbed the oven mitts and pulled the tray out herself. The cookies... if you could even call them that... we're pitch black. Not dark brown. Black.

I pointed to the two I could see. "There are six moons in total." Leo's arm brushed against mine, sending prickles of pleasure along my skin. "What about those mists we passed through?" I bent and picked one of the orange flowers. Then brought it to my nose. The petals were shaped like pansies and smelled like tangerines. "These flowers are called tigerspaw." He plucked the flower from my hand and spun it between his fingers. The color was that of a tiger's fur. "Why, tigerspaw?"

The first few weeks were great, learning something new about her everyday, getting to know her passions, mastering her intoxicating smell because she was always so near me. We took strolls in the garden often and she expressed her love for lilies. When I asked her why she didn't like roses like most women did, she fired back that she wasn't like other women something I had to firmly agree with. Her favorite flowers were the tiger lilies which she claimed had a sweet scent that simply made her drawn to them unlike the white lilies and the day lilies. 'You know it's good once in a while to enjoy some sunlight, taking in this beautiful view because you have the luxury of owning it'

The smell inside was heavy with crushed leaves and ground roots. “Do you have moonflower powder?” I asked the old man behind the counter. He studied me for a moment, then turned to fetch a small clay jar. I handed over the money, my hand already twitching to move faster. By the time we regrouped at the inn, the sun was fully up. We cleared the kitchen table, spreading out the ingredients, Lily’s Bloom, moonflower powder, ground silverleaf, and a vial of morning dew Emily had somehow managed to get from the wellspring.

Now he sounded almost tender, coaxing her like something precious he feared might shatter. Lily hesitated, her expression reluctant, then looked away. Dante took a bite himself, and the rich flavors of honey and smooth vanilla mousse bloomed across our tongue. Earnest’s Lycan joined in, and finally Lily leaned forward, licking the petal cautiously before biting deeper. Her eyes widened with pure delight. As she chewed, her fur began to glimmer softly, the glow growing brighter with each moment, as though the flower awakened something ancient and radiant within her.

Lily asks and she looks back at me. "I'd love that," I say and Gage looks at me. His eyes are watery, but I know better than to think he's going to cry. Well at least in public, he may cry when we get home. "I can even show you where Gage hides the cookies." Lily lets out a cute giggle before she looks at Gage. She doesn't say anything but she hugs him again. Gage holds her tightly and I can't help but take a quick picture of the two of them. —>

“Charlie is so damn lucky,” Jasper added. “You know what the best part is?” Taylor shared. “I used almond flour for these. They’re gluten-free, lower in carbohydrates, higher in healthy fats and fiber, and packed with nutrients like vitamin E and magnesium.” “Damn!” Freya remarked. “Lucky Charlie gets to eat Taylor’s food all the time.” “Well, we can forget about the cookies for now—I mean, with Taylor now officially accepted as Charlie’s boyfriend, we can have more cookies!” Riley exclaimed, making everyone laugh. Only Charlie’s father still looked heartbroken over the pistachio chocolate cookies.

She let the stick fall off and she squashed it with her feet and started off back to Liam's house. ******** Liam sauntered to Lily's room. Lui steps out of her room as he passes. "Can I speak to you?" Lui's voice caused Liam's to halt in his tracks. He inhaled calmly. He still hadn't forgotten it all. He was trying but it would take time. "I made these…" Lui said and stretched forth her hand. Liam's eyes lowered onto her hand. A peach cake. A cake made with peaches, just the right amount of it in addition to other equally great ingredients and flavours.

“I can’t believe he touched you,” Lily said when I told her about the incident with John. We were having another ladies’ night. I was trying out a new gluten-free recipe, this time cookies with dark chocolate chips. Lily devoured them almost as quickly as the brownies. “I still can’t believe he tried it at work,” I admitted as I set another plate of cookies and a bowl of popcorn on the dining room table. “I’m no stranger to pigs, but that was just…above and beyond.”
