Before He Wakes

Before He Wakes

“I want to catch the sonofabitch who took your daughter, but I want to get the right guy.” Mr. Barrett wrapped his arms around himself, leaning slightly forward so that his posture began to mimic that of his wife. His face became a collection of tics and twitches, as if he were about to undergo a change, a metamorphosis. When he spoke, his voice was hushed and choked. “Hank Bukhari is the right guy.” Hammett stood and walked around his desk. He hesitated but then placed a hand lightly on Mr. Barrett’s shoulder. He almost expected the man to jerk away, or even throw a punch, but instead he stood still and silent, allowing the contact.

The Moon's Descendant

The Moon's Descendant

I stopped laughing instantly and glared at the man. “Don’t worry, you’ll see him soon” I taunted. He seemed to have caught on at that point. He walked a few steps closer and I could now see his tightly balled fists. The other hunters followed his lead and closed in on us too. Tobias had his teeth bared and hackles raised, he was itching to attack. “He’s dead” he said firmly, not asking me, just confirming the realisation out loud. “He got what he deserved” I spat, disgusted at the thought that anyone could love Hank. The all so familiar warmth began to spread through my body as my rage increased.

The story is really good! The writer seemed to be learning how to tell the story from two perspectives. At first the author rewrote whole scenes but listened to readers and adapted it a little better. Still some time jump with perspective changes. Zelena has so many powers it seems a lil contrived.

This book was so well written! it caught my attention from the start and kept me hooked continuously! Some parts got confusing during the 2 POVs when something happened in 1 but not the other. If this was published on paper I'd buy it. What a fantastic read ! well done ! Im off to read part 2 ☺️

He turned to look at me but his smile was not on his face anymore. Hendrick Black: I still don't understand why in hell this court asked to proceed if I had committed that sin. You all have men who have testified. I, Hendrick Black. Yes, I am the one who paid Jo and his gang to abduct Cassandra. And I was the one who abused her sexually. I tortured her for months. Whatever Jo and his gang have said, it's all true. Now let's end it right here. I am a criminal. And I am telling you that all those proofs against me are real.

Mancini's Way

Mancini's Way

"You leave tomorrow morning at seven, that'll put you in New York at about roughly ten o'clock. An agent Peter Sarkozy will be there to meet you and debrief you on the subject's latest movements. You've been given his portfolio and should've already studied him and become very well acquainted with the way he works. Hank Mancini is an enigma; no one knows the real man and we barely understand his public persona. He comes from one of the wealthiest families in the country, went to the best schools and had the opportunity to be anything he wanted to be in this life; he chose instead to be a criminal. In almost ten years we've not been able to pin any one thing on him, but where there's smoke th

Blue Thunder: The Rise of the Legend - book 1

“The witches they needed information on were nasty ones, the kind that should have been on their wanted list. I killed most of them, including their coven leader… the spared ones who fled should have been on their lists… but weren’t for some reason.” Henry and Erik stood next to each other, both had their elbows on the counter, leaning on them. “I think we both know why. When Trisha gave me his contact details, Hendrick gave him a call, and he agreed to meet with him in an abandoned church that we sometimes use for events. We didn’t know if we could trust him and considering I was on their wanted list, Hendrick didn’t want me there.” “Makes sense, no offence,” said Coralis. “Now, about that
