The moment Toby saw the police, he tried to bolt for the door. His frail physique stood no chance against trained officers. They subdued him effortlessly. The blows left him dazed and speechless. She turned to my parents. She barely suppressed her disgust as she said to them, “Toby knew Wilson would die. He arranged for organ traffickers to wait at the funeral home. If I hadn’t intervened, they would’ve chopped Wilson up!”

I watched them for a moment without interrupting, noticing how easily Toby settled into the conversation and how naturally Malachi responded without making it complicated. After a short pause, Toby spoke again. “Have you been here before?” Malachi’s gaze shifted briefly to me before returning to Toby. “Maybe.” Toby frowned slightly. “That’s not a clear answer. It sounds like you’re hiding something.” Malachi almost smiled. “You’re very observant.”

I had gone on enough boat outings to know how to help tie up, so I grabbed a rope and assisted. “I'm very sorry, sir, but there's a matter that needs your attention.” Toby fidgeted slightly, pulling at his dress collar. He was wearing dark blue suit slacks and I could see the matching suit jacket hanging off a bench. Unfortunately, I could also see a very large white bird poop squarely on the arm of the dark jacket. “What do you mean, Toby?” Leo asked, confused. “Is this about the new phone app?” “No, sir,” Toby said slowly. His brown eyes skittered over to me and then back to his boss. “It's about the other thing.”

“Under different circumstances, I would be taking a lot of pictures and flaunting it in our chat groups, Lucy.” Toby said flatly as his eyes took in the interior of the private jet he was given as a minister. “Regardless of where we have to go with this thing now, this is actually really nice.”

If I waste my food, they will too. I finish my food in silence while Luna and Ace joke around with their dad. Toby isn't a bad guy, but for some reason, he changes around other people, trying to impress them with this alpha male character. It's genuinely the most annoying thing about him. “So Archer, have you given it any thought? I'll make you even richer if you invest in my company,” Toby asks as Archer helps the kids put on their backpacks. I finally get up, showing an empty plate to Archer sarcastically, making him smile.
