Too Late To Beg
LEO
I was halfway to Sterling International Medical Center when my phone rang.
Colby's name flashed on the screen.
I answered without slowing down.
"If you lay a hand on my sister," Colby said without preamble, "there will be war between us."
I scoffed.
"Then she better play along if she is not afraid of this war."
There was a pause on the other end, then a heavy sigh.
"I am going to talk to Whitney," Colby said. "I would have followed you to the hospital myself, but this meeting is critical. We need to close this deal today. But I am warning you, Leo. No matter what happens, do not cross the line."
