Third Person's POV It is another day and just like yesterday, all of them are waiting for the police to call. But not like what they did last time, they are now doing several things instead just sitting on the couch and staring at the to and wait for it to ring. They made themselves busy but their ears are all lending on the telephone. "Miss Fatima, what's this?" Sarah asked while showing the black box that she found inside the cabinet. "Oh," Miss Fatima reacted and then walks towards Sarah. She takes a closer look to the black box that Sarah is holding. She smiles widely.

Finally, we arrive at Dead Man’s Woods. Wade pulls over into the muddy parking area. I look outside the window, it’s pitch black and thick with fog. “Well, if this isn’t spooky, I don’t know what is.” Wade says as he turns off the ignition. “I hope you have big torches Wade, the fog is really thick,” Penny says worryingly. “Yeah, yeah I have everything including 2 tents.” He says with a smile. “What?! Tents! Why do we need tents?!” I shout.

He ripped the metal door off its hinges with a raw, desperate grunt, his bleeding fingers gripping the heavy master lever. "Arga," Randy spoke into the analog transceiver clutched to his collar. "The drone hub for Sector 18 is about to go dark." "Do it, Randy!" He threw his entire body weight onto the lever, pulling it down into the 'OFF' position. A deafening pop rang out as the massive transformers behind the wall blew their fuses, casting the entire sector into a dead, absolute darkness, illuminated only by the faint, waning starlight bleeding through the high-altitude windows.

The turbines beneath their feet groaned as the current reversed the energy, flooding the copper wires with a frequency that humanity s generators had never been designed to hold. The sound of the city above began to change. The distant sirens stopped, replaced by the cracks of exploding transformers. One by one the lights of the Null-Sector frontier grid went out plunging the valley into darkness. The violet mist did not rise. It poured down the ventilation shafts and drainage pipes sucked into the iron skeleton of the city like smoke down a chimney. The iron lines became the veins of the Unspoken, grounding the energy into the rock before it could reach the people.

"You think this is a victory? You've just stunted the planet's evolution. You’ve condemned yourselves to a slow death in a scorched forest." ​"We've lived in the soot before," I said, standing up as the steam began to clear. The kind that made my stomach tighten. Avery’s expression changed completely. “Wait,” she said slowly. “You’re serious?” “Why?” I asked. “What is it?” She stared at me for a second longer. The towering chain-link topped with razor wire looms out of the mist like a prison wall, glowing with the sterile, white floodlights of the security cameras sweeping the yard. Through the encryption earpiece, Kade's voice crackles, laced with static. “Grid is prepped. On your mark, boys.” I look over at Liam, who is crouching beside me in the mud, his eyes locked on the guard tower twenty yards away. He gives me a slow, grim nod. "Do it," I whisper into the comms. A fraction of a second later, the entire block plunges into absolute, pitch-black darkness as the transformer blows with a dull, distant thud. The floodlights snap off, the security cameras freeze mid-sweep, and the regional relay

Yvonne felt her breath stop. “Then what did he do?” Adrian looked at the dark screens then said, “He replaced it.” Silence filled the room again. Yvonne shook her head. “No…” Marcus looked at Adrian. “You’re saying…” Adrian nodded. “Yes.” Yvonne finished the thought. “He built his own system… on top of ours.” Adrian looked at her. “Yes.” The truth settled in. The blackout was not an attack, it was a reset, a takeover. The systems were coming back online but not under their control.

It should be illegal to look this nerve wrecking. The first three buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing a patch of clear slightly tanned skin. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up to his elbows, showing off the prominent veins that ran up his back hand. I felt the breath hitch in my wind pipes as our eyes met, his mesmerizing green stare made my cheeks flush and my knees go weak, it was like I was paralyzed as I stood there while his eyes still roamed me. "I don't think I've introduced myself. Damon Blackwood" his husky voice made my heart rate pick up. A smirk crawled unto his features as he stretched out a hand for me and I just stared in awe, his words sinking in.

I can feel myself blacking out as black spots cloud my vision. Just as Psych is about to grab a hold of me I hear what sounds like bikes pulling up. Psych runs over to Jesse, who is bleeding from her head, and helps her up. I catch a glimpse of Melissa lying unconscious on the ground near the kitchen and when I look back over to Psych he and Jesse are peaking out of the holes on the boarded-up windows. "Shit, the Warriors are fucking here. How the fuck did they know where we were?" Psych says hysterically.
