"That's good. Who is it?" I ask curiously. "Vivian," she says. I smile knowing exactly what she was going to do tomorrow. "Trust me, you are going to talk throughout tomorrow." "Why?" she asks. "Vivian likes to talk and shop. She's Carson's mate," I say, and she nods. "What did you talk about with your father?" she asks suddenly. Should I tell her the truth? I should. I don't want to lie about anything anymore.

You’ve always been so focused on helping others … that you never had the time for the things you want to do for yourself.” Tristan suddenly slowed down walking, then he raised his head, letting the snowfall shower his face gently. “To travel the lands of Earthos,” he turned to Kael with hopeful eyes. “After everything is done in this village, I want to go out and experience a lot of new things. Meet new people, experience different weathers, see more kingdoms and cultures … I want to go to that dragon islands you told me … in the country of Drava … and see how dragons live.”

At the moment, Tristan was reciting a tale of a particular adventure during the brothers’ teenage years, back when they used to live on St. Joseph Island, when Sakura had been living with them, but wasn’t really one of them. This particular one was about the brothers’ camping trip with their father on St. Joseph Island. There was something about a storm that night, and the boys had to sleep in a cave. Logan said, “It was awesome.” He chuckled. “I remember Conrad was so freaked out by the storm that he clung to Tristan.”

We traveled upstream for hours, the water increasing gradually warmer until what ran over my feet was the temperature of a bath. We chatted a little, Tristan darting the occasional glance upwards as the sun slid into the evening. We passed the remnants of a burned-out cabin, the charred wood being slowly destroyed by time and moss. “That was the home where I lived with my mother,” he remarked. “I haven’t been here since the night it burned.”

I decide scare them off with that and they both exchanges looks then they nod. Normally that’s supposed to end the night and we all go to bed. But decides to talk about the upcoming BOOTCAMP. Plopping on the couch, Tristan cupped his face with both hands. He knows he’s seen someone wearing cartoon underwear too, but he can't recall who that was. After a few minutes and as he calmed down, he recalled his business trip to Dale. It was the summer of last year. ‘Right, it was during that time!’ Jacob booked a hotel suite for the two of them but they didn’t go to Dale at the same time. He found a cave for us to spend the night in. While he was out looking for something to eat, some creeps came through the back of the cave and kidnapped me,” she said with hesitation. “I know it sounds farfetched, but they were werewolves or something like that. There was also a woman vampire there. She was so beautiful that she mesmerized me while she drank blood from my wrist.”

“I couldn’t be happier. He’s a sweet man. I’m only sad they’ll be moving out to Fall Creek to live with his pack. I understand though, he’s the Gamma. He has to stay there.” “Well, that’s great,” Sigmund chimed in. “I’m sure they’ll be happy. Fall Creek is very nice.” The conversation continued on in that vein for the duration of the meal. It was pleasant, although I had a hard time following most of it. I was completely out of touch with what had been going on in the pack for the past decade. Tristan was mostly silent during the meal, too. At one point, Crystal asked him if he had any big plans for summer break. The poor guy looked like the concept of time off was completely foreign to him.
