Elise and the Scorpion King (Magical Journey Series Book 1)

Elise and the Scorpion King (Magical Journey Series Book 1)

She was astonished, petrified and froze like a carved stone. Elise dusted off her hands and smiled at Zadi. “Well, that’s it. Thank you for the suggestion, Zadi. Now, what’s next?” “Take a look at that bound thing. There’s something nagging me that we can use it,” Zadi said thoughtfully. Her eyes fixed on that bound thing on the altar. They both sauntered closer to the altar. Elise took out the papyrus roll inside the transparent cloth. “What’s this?” she asked Zadi. The pygmy peered at it with her jaw dropped down. “What is it, Zadi?” she asked again at the silent woman.

Just for two weeks

Just for two weeks

"Papyrus. I know sheep's vellum was more durable and more common in those days, but it had to be papyrus. The thinner the best." "Okay." "Before the papyrus was inserted into the cryptex's compartment, it was rolled around a delicate glass vial." She tipped the cryptex, and the liquid inside gurled. "A vial of liquid." "Liquid what?" Sophie smiled. "Vinegar." Jim hesitated a moment and then began nodding. "Brilliant."

LOVE AND HONOR: The Mad Emperor (BL)

LOVE AND HONOR: The Mad Emperor (BL)

Then Tiberius broke the seal. Read it. Paused. Unlike the first scroll, he didn't pass it to the scriba. Instead he tightened his fingers around the parchment until it crumpled. Then, without a word, he walked to the nearest brazier and shoved the scroll into the flames. The parchment hissed, blackened, and curled like a dying spider The smell—burning papyrus, wine and sweat—filled the heavy air. Whatever it said, Tiberius would be the only one to know.

The Lycan’s Tribute: Claimed By My Foster Brothers

The Lycan’s Tribute: Claimed By My Foster Brothers

Torin stood near the entrance the entire time with his sleeve at his nose and occasionally made sounds that communicated his feelings about the general situation. We left. The smell came with us in our clothes, which was exactly as unpleasant as it sounds. Back in the Map Hall we laid everything out on the least-damaged section of floor. Library scrolls. Zane's journal. Lab notes. Rubbings. The vial. All of it together in one place for the first time. Kaelen stood over it and was quiet for a moment, the look on his face wasn't something pleasant to look at.

Killed and Reborn: My Alpha’s Obsession

Killed and Reborn: My Alpha’s Obsession

Rin slit the wax with a thumbnail and carefully unwrapped the oilskin. Paper slid into her hands. Thick, good paper. Not the cheap, pulpy, kind villagers used for market tallies. A faint smell of old wax and iron‑rich ink rose up, edged with damp where water had tried and failed to get in. Someone with access to money and a decent scribe had done this. The top sheet was covered in dense, careful script. The ink had bled slightly at the edges where damp had kissed it, but the lines were still legible.

Ava: Bound by the Alpha’s Curse

Ava: Bound by the Alpha’s Curse

He crouched. Ran his fingers along the seam. There. A subtle edge. He pressed harder. The board shifted slightly. Lifted. Beneath it lay a narrow cavity. And inside— A roll of parchment wrapped in oilcloth. His breath slowed. He removed it carefully. The oilcloth was old but preserved. Intentional. Whoever had hidden this did not expect it to be found quickly. Cassian stood slowly and unwrapped the parchment. The ink had faded but remained legible.

The Billionaire's Debt-Bride

The Billionaire's Debt-Bride

Damian consulted the silver cylinder from the safe house, his fingers flying across the small screen. "Row 42. Folio 809," he muttered. I pulled the manual crank, the heavy shelves parting with a low, rhythmic thrum that echoed like a heartbeat in the narrow aisle. I found the box a neutral-pH, archival-grade container sealed with a lead strip. I opened it with trembling fingers. Inside lay twenty sheets of 17th-century linen rag paper. It was beautiful thick, creamy, and deckle-edged. Under the light of my torch, I could see the watermark of a long-dead papermaker: a small, intricate crown.

I really liked the story but HATE the ending, too much left hanging. I don’t think this was a good ending to the book even if there is a sequel. So now I’ll wait for hopefully a next one so there’s closure to so many unresolved issues.

is this book finished? I am getting near the end and where I'm at, there is a lot to wrap up in just a few chapters. I think this is a great story line, it has me anxious to find out how it will all out

Howl I Met My Mate: The Plus-Size Human’s Secret

Howl I Met My Mate: The Plus-Size Human’s Secret

"She is a Holloway, and humans will do anything for power." Pushing open the heavy doors to his study, Lucien marched toward his desk, intending to throw away the ruined papers from the night before. Instead, his eyes landed on a neat stack of crisp white parchment sitting directly over the stained ancient treaties. He picked up the top page, his heart violently slamming against his ribs as his eyes scanned the flawless handwriting, reading the perfect translation of the northern rune treaties that his entire Beta Council had failed to decipher for months. Attached to the bottom page was a small, handwritten note from Freya.

DEOS

DEOS

He sought for the knowledge, dedicated all his life to unearth the unearthed, opposed the DEOS and the people who are devoted to its words. He made so many outrageous things; DEOS cannot be owned, so he stole it and engraved its text to tablets of stone so he can further study it on a deeper extent- the book was then retrieved by the people. He sneaked to a sacred and forbidden place to gather information and almost lost his way out. And the most outrageous of all of that he did; He teared out 3 pages of DEOS and hid it- Hitherto, the 3-missing page’s whereabout remained unknown.
