I’ve had quite enough of being toyed with by men. With every ounce of strength I have left, I thrust the sword-like branch toward his neck. Faster than I can react, the warrior, quickly anticipating my move, grabs my wrist and twists my arm behind my back. I cry out, branches clattering to the ground. Thorns tear into my hands. I lift my leg, trying desperately to kick the warrior in the groin, but he wraps his arm around my thigh and wrenches it painfully. I cry out helplessly, and the two of us tumble to the ground, wrestling desperately.

“Four.” The lives of innocent people are on the line. “Three.” The honor of every warrior on both sides is riding on the defeat of one pack and the victory of the other. “Two.” The outcome from today's events would either clear a path to my revenge or be the driving point to my downfall. “One…” “Wait!” I paused in my words and we all turned out heads to the young warrior who stood 3 feet away from us. Sweat covered his skin and heavy pants fell from his lips. He’s one of the warriors we left behind at the pack.

I could feel it flowing into me as a cool soothing feeling battled with the anger and burning rage. It was as if two halves of me were battling to take hold of me, it was like nothing I had ever experienced before. When we spotted the warriors fighting with what I recognised as Trent’s wolf and two others I connected to my warriors. They stood down straight away, even as I can hear Dylan shouting through the link to all available warriors to look for me, they stood down at my word.

There were hundreds of them and there were only three of us. How are the three of us supposed to fight hundreds of warriors? “Now!” the Head Warrior of Silver Moon suddenly yelled. He raised a whistle to his lips and blew sharply as the sound pierced through the field. I frowned. What is he doing? For a few seconds, nothing happened. Then, heavy footsteps began echoing from somewhere beyond the field. The sound grew louder as the Bloodfang warriors gradually slowed down, confusion spreading across their faces. Some even turned around. “What’s that sound?”

Ash lifted his head. When he spoke, the words sounded layered—as if two voices came from his mouth at once: “They’ve found me.” A low, rising roar echoed through the trees. Darkthorn had arrived. Hundreds—no, thousands—of warriors moved like a black tide just beyond the camp’s border, their torches bobbing in the dark. Their crest—a crimson thorn wrapped around a wolf’s skull—gleamed like fresh blood. Tyla sucked in a breath beside me. I stepped closer, shielding her with my body even though her power surged so fiercely she didn’t need me to.

Fennigan tore through the razor-sharp briars like a massive, unstoppable force of nature, completely ignoring the thorns tearing into his bare chest and arms. He found Marcus on his knees at the base of a towering, moss-covered rock formation. The Head Warrior’s hands were caked in freezing mud as he frantically scraped away layers of dead vines, packed dirt, and crushed ferns. Fennigan didn’t hesitate. He dropped to his knees right beside his Head Warrior, his massive, bloodied hands plunging into the wet earth. Graham said, pushing out his bottom lip in a pouty sad face. ‘Get on the fucking horse now!” Agnar's voice echoed through the forest, he was done with their childish shit. “Sorry Alpha.” Graham said bowing his head, Bryant held out his arm so Graham could grab a hold of it as he hopped up on to the horse. They began moving out towards home, making their way to the forest. Agnar kept looking down at the girl, wondering if she was in pain. Graham smirked, sliding his arm around Bryant’s waist and nestled into his back letting out a small sigh of contentment. Bryant growled as he slapped Graham’s forearm.

I didn't want to worry about that so I just shook my head. On the way to Andrew's house, I saw Edward walking along with two more warriors. They were on the way to a cliff on the eastern border of the pack. I think for a while what was in there that they could possibly need. I followed them but, this time, I used the trees and branches. Because my movement were swift and light, no one noticed when I climb the tree and jump from one to another. As they stopped, I stayed up the tree and sat comfortably then opened my mind to peek into their thoughts. Waniya Sadness does not seem a burden, when you never had the pleasure of being happy. I have always been in a fight and flight mode, struggling to prove that I am worth something, even though nobody cared. The darkness inside my body has deepened itself to the point that I can't breathe without hindrance.
