I didn’t feel my body hit the ground, but when the sensation returned to my fingers and toes and my eyes cracked open all I saw was the orange hues of the twilight sky above me. Chaos had once again ensued around me, in the distance I could see Jasper fighting Dark, but by the sluggish movements, I knew Dark’s power was affecting him. Frozen in my position I watched as Jasper collapsed to his knees, looking completely drained of energy and my heart thumped wildly in my chest. Dark held a dagger over Jasper’s spent body, ready to thrust the silver blade into his chest when a scream bubbles from my chest.

Dawn quietly answered. She just snapped, she found Jasper near her, smelling her nape, she closed her eyes as she felt he breathed deeply. Jasper’s fangs showed up, ready to attack her but before he could do that, Dawn fainted in his arms. With wide eyes, Jasper managed to carry her, get out of her room and run, like a thunder flash in the dark forest. He stopped running when he reached his home, Conry Forest. His mother, Acantha, a half-vampire, welcomed him but was surprised to see that he was carrying a woman who had lost consciousness.

Alfred chuckles, raising his hands as if in surrender, "We're men, we understand each other, don't we? If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time with a woman like her." Excuse me? Jasper lets go of my waist, but not before placing me behind his broad body protectively, stepping forward and lowering his head to look him straight in the eye. This gives the impression that Alfred is short and more slight than he really is, when in fact it's Jasper who doesn't look his age. "No, we don't understand each other." Jasper's voice is deep... so intimidating that I feel a shiver run down my spine. And then I smell the air, with a scent of pine entering my nostrils - it's Jasper's scent...

Jasper ordered, his eyes shining with glee as he thought about how he was going to get his hands on the power that no shifter had ever gotten his hands on. “Once I eat her core, I will become the first shifter who will have the power of both light and dark witches, along with a shifter. I will be an entity whom everyone shall worship!” Jasper laughed as he hugged Alyssa and kissed her on the cheek. Elaine was dragged to the ritual ground where she was tied to a pillar. Jasper looked at the woman with a smile on his face and said to her, “Don’t worry, Elaine. I will remember this sacrifice of yours…. You will be praised for giving your life in the name of love.” ‘

He grabs my hand and entwines our fingers. “He’s still breathing, so he’s fine. It’s just the witches.” Jade says nonchalantly as she walks away. I watch her as she disappears from my view, not breathing until she’s gone. Has she known this whole time what was happening to him? “Yeah, she’s really smart and said the Moon goddess gave her some clues the last time she saw her,” Jasper says. I whip my head around to look at him. I didn’t realize I asked the question out loud.

A familiar voice broke the alpha's train of thoughts and hazel eyes met silver ones. "I see they didn't wound your sense of humour." Lucas replied, lips twitching as a smile threatened to spread across them. "She." Johnny corrected, wincing slightly. "It was a she-wolf. Definitely a shifter but not a rogue." Lucas raised an eyebrow. "It doesn't matter. They're dead as soon as we find them." "Sure that's wise?" Johnny replied. "Seems like your girl knows who the wolf is." "Is that so?"

~Avery~ Jasper had gone off to practice. I was still in the library, I was stroking my arm with my hand as I replayed our conversation in my head. The women in Jasper's family had all been given the gift of premonitions. Both a gift and a curse I guess you could say. His mother had died, but maybe his sister could help me. I and Jasper had planned to meet up, after his practice, out by the garden. There was a gazebo out by the lake where we could sit in private without prying eyes and ears.

Yvonne asked me to focus on a beam of light on the ceiling. I concentrated on the light. After a few minutes, she asked gently, “Who are you?” “Aurora Twilight.” “Do you know Harry Chalamet?” “Yes, I do.” “No, you don’t.” “I do. I know him. No… I don’t know him.” “You don’t know him.” “I… don’t know him.”

He had been observing the red-haired vampire as she spoke with the other female through the glass doors of the art gallery. “Mason!” Dylan phoned once more. Mason yelled out, "Coming," and started to move with the rest of the group. When Mason joined them, Dylan commented, "So, she was hot, you know, for a dead person." Dylan was a werewolf who was 37 years old and had stopped growing since he was in his late 20s. Like Mason, he was tall and slim, but when his dark hair wasn't tied back, it hung to his shoulders.
