Not even him.” Each word felt like a brand against her skin. He stepped back finally, studying her with a smirk, like a spider admiring a struggling fly. “And sweetheart...” Mason added, voice a mockery of affection, “you have no idea just how big my web really is.” With a final wink, he turned and strolled out of the room — leaving the door wide open behind him. Claire collapsed against the desk, her knees buckling under her. The flash drive burned against her skin, heavy in her pocket.

He retorted, while controlling his jealousy. Becky looked at Marcus changing tone with surprise and read his mind. She wanted to tell Marcus about the reality of the witch, but it was not the right time. Marcus is back to his beast Lycan avatar and he would not listen to her. Marcus looked up and immediately wipe his tears, he even didn't avoid to chuckle silently while looking at Cassandra who's sleeping like an angel. For him, it's just really fun to think. He's a werewolf, an Alpha of the Moon Desire Kingdom. Since he was a kid, he also knows as a wolf who have no fear of anything, Marcus is a kind of wolf who knows for being powerful and strong. Yet, right now he is so weak and scared. He loves Ertha, but falling in love with Cassandra seems different. Everything that she does for him was special and beautiful, that it made him feel so scared to let her go, because he knows to himself that he becomes unfair to Cassandra.

Alara’s POV He did not wake gently. There was no slow flutter of lashes. No confused inhale into borrowed air. Xavier came back like a warrior breaching the surface of deep water — violent, gasping, eyes burning gold and black all at once. Marcus rose with him, not raging, not fully controlled, but balanced on the edge of eruption. I was still kneeling beside him when his body arched under the strain of returning consciousness. The fused mark at his shoulder — Lycan and Crescent intertwined — glowed faintly beneath torn skin.

I never accepted. “He does not talk much, but he is not a bad person,” Marcus said. “Do not be nervous.” Marcus’s house was in the east wing of Shadowfang’s main house. Embarrassed, I stammered, "Craig, you go ahead." My cedar pheromones betrayed a flicker of panic, sharpening Marcus's gaze. Craig's wariness grew. "Kelsey, are you sure he's a friend? Maybe I should drive you home." At Craig's words, Marcus exited the car, his towering figure imposing. Dressed in a dark, tailored suit, he exuded luxury. His cedar aura flared with alpha dominance, putting Craig on edge. Marcus strode over, his cold eyes dismissing Craig, and said to me, "Moira sent me to pick you up."
