Just you wait and see.” “Security!” I shouted and watched them run up to where we stood. “Take her away,” I said. “You will pay for this!” she shouted as their arms wrapped around her. “Just you wait. You will pay, Sloane Moon!” she shouted as they dragged her away, right in front of me. And for one horrible second, I let out a breath of relief.

"We will face it together. Whatever comes, we will face it together." She leaned into him. "I know. It just feels like so much. The council, the pack, Varya, the prophecy, Aldrian. I do not know where to start. I do not know what to do first." Kael wrapped an arm around her. "You start where you are. Right now...This moment. You do not have to solve everything today. You just have to take the next step." Sena brought them tea and sat across from them, her grey eyes thoughtful. "The prophecy speaks of the twin moons aligning. That means there is a specific night. Everything will come to a head then."

No one spoke as they stepped into the hallway, the silence was its own language, each of them wrapped in the same storm of betrayal, grief, and determination. Her jaw dropped open in a quiet scream. Then, in a heartbeat, everything was blinded by the lightning that struck the middle of the clearing. Finally, the wolf vanished. She had been replaced by a young woman covered in dew and lying on the wildflowers. As if carved from moonlight her nude body glistened. Her breaths were shallow and painful rising and falling in her chest.

"Judging from your expression, you already confronted him and got ignored." I scoffed, lowering my gaze. "Does he know about the fact that you've been preparing for the ritual?" he asked, and I shook my head. He sucked in a sharp breath. "He's totally going to freak when he finds out." In the course of digging into information on conjuring the twin moons, I'd discovered that the same method could also help Stefan. Even though he wasn't pushing me to do anything, I could tell that he was worn out. And for him, time was running out as well.

It was a shared fate, a cruel joke played by the Moon Goddess. “It’s her,” Zayne spat, his voice shaking with pure disgust. Zack stumbled back as if he had been slapped. “No. It cannot be.”

Meanwhile, in the sacred valley of the Dark Moon Pack, I was at the altar, dressed in a silver gown, my long hair braided and adorned with moonstones. I seemed to sparkle against the sun, while Lyon stood beside me, his figure towering as he held my hand, our matching engagement rings glinting against the sun's glow. Lyon's voice was deep and strong, ringing throughout the valley as he swore, "I, Lyon, take Susan as my beloved Luna.
